This is it.
You're a little more than halfway through senior year. College applications are in, winter sports seasons are underway, and for many, looking for scholarships is next on the college to-do list that never seems to end. As you're waiting for acceptance letters to roll in, things may feel like they're at a standstill. You'll start to get anxious for warmer days and graduation. It's totally normal to feel that way now, but in a couple of months, you may find yourself wishing for more time. So instead of complaining every morning as you're getting ready for school, do something to make the most of your last few months of senior year.
Make a change
If you've wanted to make a change throughout high school, now is the time to do it. Maybe you've wanted to join a new club, try out for a spring sport, do some volunteer work, or start a new organization at school. Whatever it may be, you still have so much time to make a change that you will thank yourself for later.
Create memories
Don't forget how important it is to be with your friends. Do as much as you can with them not just over the summer, but now. August comes all too quickly, and you're going to want to have a lot to look back on as you miss these amazing people that you grew up with.
Take chances
Maybe the person you've liked for years now is finally single. Talk to them! There's nobody saying you can't. You'll never know if you don't take a chance. If you're afraid and are thinking "what if it doesn't work out," its okay. If it doesn't, by this time next year everyone will have forgotten all about it.
Ladies - don't stress about prom
Seriously. I know because I also thought that prom was the most important night of the year, and I spent countless hours obsessing over every last detail. Looking back on it now, I wish that I had just relaxed and had fun.
Above all, just enjoy your last few months of high school and don't take moments for granted. These are the times that you will never get back.
