Thank you for being there for me no matter the circumstance. Thank you for being the ones to take care of me and tell me I am strong. Thank you for always being willing to indulge me and go on Taco Bell runs at 1 am. Thank you for showing me right from wrong. Thank you for opening up to me and for listening to me. Most importantly, thank you for loving me no matter what.
"Sometimes the people whom we've known for only a short amount of time have a bigger impact on us than those we've known forever" -Unknown
Although I have only been in my sorority a short time, the amount of love that I have for every single girl is so immense. I don't even know how to explain it to others. Being a part of something that you instantly fall in love with is both amazing and scary.
I never thought that I would love my sorority as much as I do. I always knew I wanted to be a part of one, isn't that what all the "cool" girls do? Going through recruitment and actually being in my sorority has taught me that it is so much more. Being a part of a group of girls who are a support system and love you unconditionally is more than "cool". It is an experience that I will hold with me forever. The friendships I have made I know will last a lifetime. It does not matter if it is a senior I only went to school with for a semester or a girl in my pledge class. I know that she will be there for me to grab coffee, help me land an internship or just be there for me when I need someone. It is so special and something I am beyond grateful for.
The day I received my bid was surreal. I was so happy that I cried but I really didn't know what being a part of a sorority meant for my future. Running into the arms of people you don't know but feeling like you belong. It is an emotion that has to be lived to be felt. Standing with girls all around you chanting songs and wishing you knew all of the words to sing along with your newfound sisters. It is the beginning of the next chapter in your life and one that is just so special.
I don't know what the future holds for my life but I know that my sorority sisters will be there every step of the way.
I just wanted to say thank you, DZ. I am so proud and honored to be apart of something that makes my life better everyday.
