Dear Roomie,
I'm so grateful to have been able to experience my first year of college with you. You've made the transition so much easier, and I'm so lucky I got to start off my college career with a best friend. Most of the reason I was so excited to come to college was that I'd get to experience this journey with you. Thank you for volunteering to live with my crazy self for a year and for not being scared away once it actually happened.
Living with you is a blast. It's a constant sleepover with my best friend. I love our movie marathons and late night conversations. We laugh so much together and knowing my best friend will be there when I get home from class is so comforting, and it's something I look forward to every day. Even when we're trying to do our work, we still manage to get distracted and laugh about something funny, or just the ridiculous work we've been assigned to do. Even just sending each other funny GIFs and updates about our classes to make me laugh to myself and get weird looks from peers who don't understand our friendship.
Thank you for being there for me from day one. We've both had our ups and downs so far, but being there for each other has made it a whole lot easier. I know I can tell you anything and you won't judge me, and you always know the right thing to say when I'm upset. I'm glad I get to be there for you, too, and I always will be. You're truly a sister to me. You've welcomed me into your home and made our dorm at college feel like one. The little things you do like leaving notes for me when you go home always brighten up my day (even though that means you won't be with me that weekend/break).
I miss these things when we're both at home for breaks, and when you take your weekend trips home. Even though I miss you, I get to look forward to seeing you when we get back and telling each other all about what happened while we were away.
You've made my first year of college so much fun, and I'll always keep the memories we've made together close to my heart. I can't wait to spend more years with you.
Love,
The roommate who's so thankful for you
