College students are often dependent on a single beverage to help them study for finals, stay awake during a boring class and keep them going after a long night. This magical source of energy has taken over campuses from sea to shining sea. Of course, it's coffee.

Coffee intake tends to grow during the school year. If there are finals and a ten page paper in your future, a long night means coffee. Some students can stay up until 2:30 a.m. and still go to their 8 a.m. class thanks to their cup of coffee. They will rush to Starbucks, Einstein's or their own Keurig to get the fix they need.

Some students frequent the coffee shops on campus so often that the workers can look at them and know exactly what they want. I am one of those people. The wonderful baristas at Starbucks take one look at me and say, "grande iced vanilla latte? Do you want the blueberry scone too?" I seriously have a problem.

This bleeds into my friend group as well. Coffee is like the currency among my friends when they owe me something. If someone owes me five dollars, for example, I would rather them buy me my usual coffee than give me physical cash. That's all I spend my money on anyways. I personally have an addiction to coffee that has reached new elements of crazy. How crazy? My entire day sometimes revolves around when I can get more coffee and how far away I am from it.

Coffee is big in the world of college students, but do any of us know where it originated? I'm sure many a college student has wondered this while sipping a cup and studying. According to the National Coffee Association USA, the coffee plant originated in Ethiopia, where the trees grow. There's a legend that a farmer discovered that his goats were animated after eating the berries of the trees. He told the local abbot of his discovery, who was able to stay up for late night prayers after consuming the berries.

Gradually, trade occurred that took the coffee into the Arab peninsula. This is also where coffee houses originated! After taking a trek to Europe, coffee finally arrived in the United States in 1773. Today, there are multiple types of coffee that bring a unique flavor.

While you sit in your favorite study corner and sip your coffee, you can almost imagine the farmer discovering the berries. The people around the world sitting in coffee houses like the one you are sitting in, discussing important topics, or planning a revolution. If they can plan a huge event, you can knock out that test!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
