Hey girl. It’s me again. I’m here to say I’m sorry. This apology is for a list of many things.
I’m sorry for not calling as much as I should. I know we text each other a lot but you and I both know it’s not the same. You have had so many up’s and down’s throughout this school year, and one of my biggest regrets is not calling or facetiming so I can hear the excitement or sadness in your voice. But, thank you for always being that person I know I can call at anytime.
I’m sorry for not always taking your advice. Sometimes you say things I don’t want to hear, but that is what you are here for. I know that if we switched shoes, I would be saying the same things to you. Being so far away, it is really easy for me to think, “she isn’t here so she wouldn’t understand”. But, deep down I know that you understand me more than anyone and you only want the best for me.
I’m sorry for taking time with you away from your family when we are home. We have too much to catch up on. Hours and hours of random storytelling is necessary every time we are home. Those nights are essential to maintaining a good long distance BFF relationship. Just tell mom and dad I said sorry.
I’m sorry for not visiting enough. I know we agreed to make some road trips throughout the semester, but things just got so busy. We both have hectic schedules and it’s hard to plan the perfect time to come see you. I know you are having a great time though. When I see your pictures on Instagram, I like them and leave a cute comment, but I secretly wish I was there living college life with you.
I’m sorry for not keeping you completely updated on my life like we used to do. In high school, it was easy to know about everything that was going on in each other’s lives. When we would talk or gossip, we didn’t even have to use names. We would just refer to people as “him” or “her” and we knew exactly who each other was talking about. It’s hard to do that now when we have met so many different people and become a part of different friend groups. But, I promise to give you all the good details about everything when we are together.
Most importantly, I want you to know that I will always be here for you. I know it doesn’t feel the same because that five minute drive to your house has turned into a four hour drive from my dorm to yours, but I believe our friendship won’t fade. Even if there are times when we don’t see each other or talk to each other for awhile, we can always pick up right where we left off at any point in time. Thank you for always being my best friend forever. I can’t wait to see where the rest of our college years take us.
With Love,
Your Long Distance BFF
