Amy Poehler is not only a mom; she's a cool mom.

Amy Poehler isn't only an actress in the business, but also a director, producer, and writer. On top of all of that, she's Leslie Knope, a character beloved by all, a No. 1 "New York Times" Bestseller, and a complete badass.

For the first time in awhile, I had the time to read a book for pleasure. I know that's weird, a teenager reading a book for pleasure; I'm a rare species. Recently, I picked up Poehler's "New York Times" Bestseller, "Yes Please," and I thought it was going to just be "one of those feel-good books." However, it was something more.

Organized into three parts (Part One: Say Whatever You Want, Part Two: Do Whatever You Want, Part Three: Be Whoever You Want), Poehler explained the highlights and lowlights of her career while also hiding little snippets of advice we could all use within her anecdotes. I found myself folding back page corner after page corner, to remember to look back on these snippets as needed.

Just like Poehler, these quotes all have spunk, sass and wit tucked into each of them. All of these could apply to many of us, and also be an awesome quote to put on a coffee mug. Here are a few of my personal favorites plus one that is on my coffee mug:

"Nobody looks stupid when they're having fun."

"Good for you, not for me."

"Don't think."

"Forget the facts. Remember the feelings."

"Everybody is scared most of the time."

"There's power in looking silly and not caring that you do."

Amy Poehler is not only an author, she's a cool author.

Poehler once again wowed her audience in a different medium than we usually see her shining in. While proving herself as the author of a hit memoir, she also proved herself as a role model.

I liked her before, but now I am a big fan. Poehler demonstrates to me through her book that sometimes you have to make your own career. She showed me that you don't have to be the most beautiful woman in the world to be the most successful.

Most importantly, she taught me there's power in looking silly and not caring that you do. She is someone that not only college girls like me should start looking up to but is an excellent role model for women of all ages. She's a lethal combination of what we should strive to be: confident, sassy, determined, sweet, caring, successful, independent while being one complete hell of a woman.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
