Now, I know that everyone likes to complain about how long distance relationships are so hard and how they suck, I know I have done so many-a-time before; I have even written an article about it but I have learned that sometimes you need to take a step back in life and look on the bright side.

You only have one life, so why not enjoy it and why not be positive; there is too much sadness and hate in the world already why add to it? So, I am going to give you five reasons why long distance relationships, in my opinion, can be way better than ones where you see each other every second of every day.

1. Even though your time away from your sweetie might be long and feel like ages away even though it's only two weeks, that time where you are away you get to spend focusing on other things that are important to you.

For example, your friends and school work get the attention they deserve. There are always those girls that ignore their friends and school whenever they get a boyfriend and long distance refuses to let that happen to you.

2. When you do finally get to see your boy, the time you spend together is filled with things you have been talking about doing for awhile.

Your precious time together is not wasted and you plan out weeks in advance what you want to do. Not only that, but the time you spend together is even more special than it already was because instead of seeing the other person's face on a screen or hearing their voice on the phone, they are actually physically there with you. You can squeeze them whenever you want.

3. When it comes to long-distance relationships, you don't normally have to worry about the other person's commitment to you.

Think about it, neither one of you would be putting up with the stress and pain if you did not feel like it was worth it and that's saying a lot about you and your significant other's feelings for one another. If you did not care a lot about the other person, you would not drive four hours every other weekend, FaceTime or call them every day for an hour just to hear their voice, or text them constantly about your day since they can't be there with you to experience it.

4. Absence does make the heart grow fonder.

I know we have probably all heard this and some of you may not believe it, but if you have ever experienced a long distance relationship, you know it to be true. When you aren't with your sweetie for weeks on end you begin to miss the small things and possibly things that would normally annoy you if you were together all the time.

You find yourself missing how their hair always ends up on every single piece of your clothing, the way that they snore at 1 in the morning and wake you up, or the little kiss they give you when you're half asleep of a way of saying goodnight, I love you.
