I Am A Woman And I Am Beautiful

How many of us are confident of our natural beauty? How many of us are courageous enough to say that we are beautiful? The answer, unfortunately, is not many and maybe even none. How many business brands actually promote the natural beauty of nature or human or women? The answer, too, unfortunately, is not a lot. But there is one brand and company does actually promote all of that, and it is Unilever. One of my all time favorite brands is Unilever, a British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company. I believe what makes Unilever a great company is that it values the natural beauty of nature, humans, and women.

Less than a decade ago, Unilever was a company name unfamiliar to most people. Today almost every household has a daily used product(s) made from Unilever. As Unilever expanded, it understood the impact it has on the environment and nature; therefore, Unilever’s goal is to halve the environment footprint of its products. Its products' greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 4% each year since 2010. The water associated with the disposal of its products came down to 12% versus what it was in 2010. In addition to that, Unilever is also focusing on tackling climate change by eliminating deforestation, developing sustainable agriculture, and helping with recycling and efficient consuming.

Furthermore, Unilever hopes to improve peoples’ health and well-being through its product. Unilever encourages people to take action through behavior change programs and promotes hygiene and nutritious food products. Specifically, it has helped in creating a better future for children through spirant real health programs around the world, bring nutrition expertise in helping children in undeveloped countries. Around 397 million people have reached at the end 2014 through its programs on hand washing, safe drinking water, and sanitation.

Moreover, as a woman, I was inspired by Dove, one of Unilever’s brand, where it promotes the natural beauty of women. It encourages and develops a positive relationship with the way they look, and helps them raise their self-esteem and realize their full potential. Many of Dove's campaigns focuses on women of all shapes, color, and ages. I believe that every woman is beautiful and Dove helps reveal that message through its advertisement campaigns and it is one of the reasons I decided to major in marketing. Just like Unilever, I want to promote and spread the natural beauty of women even further throughout businesses.

People often think that business is all about money and marketing; however, Unilever has proved them wrong. Business has the different side too, the caring and consideration side. Unilever has taken steps in promoting the natural beauty of nature, human, and especially women. That is the reason Unilever is my favorite brand and company and one of the reasons that inspired me to do marketing. Thanks to Unilever, I am proud to say that I am a woman and I am beautiful.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
