This was certainly an article I thought long and hard about and was not sure whether to post it or not because I was afraid of the backlash that here I am and yes my title says what it says. As a Jesus lover, I believe that us as Christian's need to step up and love one another no matter their sexual orientation or preferences. One thing I have noticed that throughout the transgender bathroom "dilemma", is that people state they are concerned about children's safety (which is in my mind completely understandable) but after they deliver that statement they continue to talk about how "sick and demented" these people are and how they deserve to go to hell. I have a question for the people who think like out there: do you genuinely believe that you are not a sinner? Your answer should be a no because as humans we are all sinners and are equal in God's eyes. Leave the judgment to God and we as a nation need to leave the prayer and the guarding of our own hearts to us.
Jesus hung out with prostitutes, thieves, beggars; a variety of people and to Jesus, they were equally favored and loved. My personal goal in life is to love others like he can love me and like he can love you. The LGBTAQ+ community is not something you just avoid, pretend it does not exist, or "hate talk" behind computer screens. Believe it or not; something people seem to forget is that these people you have grouped together are individuals with the same blood, organs, and they happen to have feelings. If Jesus was on this Earth right now he would be ashamed of the behavior and verbal, sometimes physical abuse that people have towards another group of people. It breaks my heart and really irritates me that people think this is the best thing to do, because of these people Christians are given a bad reputation.
I want to mention a person dear to my heart who is one of my best friends, I won't mention his name due to personal reasons but he is faced judgment and discrimination every day as a homosexual who goes to a private, Christian university. I can guarantee that this does not show him the love of Christ, the stares and the looks and the whispers do not influence anyone or give a positive message. This just shows that you are uncomfortable with something you do not understand. You are not forced to understand, but as a nation, we have a role to be morally responsible for our actions. I feel no matter what walk of life someone leads they should be accepted openly into the church no matter what. Please lets just spread the love and positivity.
