Autolux, comprised of Eugene Goreshter (lead vocals/bass), Greg Edwards (guitar/vocals) and Carla Azar (drums/vocals), is slated to perform at Philadelphia’s Underground Arts with Eureka The Butcher on April 2 as they promote their upcoming third studio album, "Pussy’s Dead." The album was produced by Beyoncé collaborator and producer Boots.
The trio, described as “enigmatic,” has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, opened for Thom Yorke, embarked on several worldwide tours, and is making an appearance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival. While the band was formed in 2001 and the band remains a collective unit, the trio also pursues independent projects; drummer Azar toured with Jack White in 2013, for instance.
“In Autolux, we all love music, so we all love doing other things. But it really makes us miss our own band. And I think that’s a healthy thing — after a while, you start taking it for granted, and while you enjoy working with other people, there’s a reason why you’re in your band, and why you formed it in the first place,” Azar explains in an interview with the Santa Barbara Independent.
