Alpha Omicron Pi, I Thank You.

There are so many things to be thankful for in life and Alpha Omicron Pi is definitely one of them.

Alpha Omicron Pi, I Thank You.

Alpha Omicron Pi, I can't even begin to thank you for everything you have given me. These past few years have been the greatest of my life and I can't thank you enough. Every sisters' story is different, but there are a few things that we've all gained from this amazing sisterhood that will forever be the same. Whether you are a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi or another sorority, you know exactly what I am talking about. You were given and blessed with something you never even thought you deserved, but you did.

Thank you for giving me an unlimited amount of friends and sisters that will always have my back. I never knew what I was actually getting myself into when I joined AOII, but I quickly realized that it was the greatest choice I had made thus far. The feeling of walking into a room of your sisters is something that truly can't be explained until you feel it. It is something that brings you so much joy and happiness, and I truly thank Alpha Omicron Pi for that. The greatest part of it all though is have sisters that know your true self, and I mean true self. From the embarrassing moments to the greatest achievements of your life, and guess what? They love you just the same.

Thank you for giving me my backbone. I've always been a strong-willed person, but joining AOII made me feel invincible. Whether I have known the sister for a week or for years, they inspire me and encourage me to be my best self. They make me believe that I can do anything I put my mind to and without them, there would be many more moments of doubt throughout my college career.

Thank you for giving me a support system and countless shoulders to cry on. What do you do when something goes wrong, whether it's a bad grade or a bad guy or the really serious stuff: you lean on your sisters. College can be hard, it can be ugly, and it can be amazing, but the best part is knowing that you have sisters to hold your hand through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thank you for giving me a chance to be a leader. No one takes chances on you quite like your sisters do. They believe in you and support you all the way. I had leadership qualities before I joined AOII but I never quite knew my potential until I was given the honor to serve as New Member Educator. This pushed me to my limits and tested how tough I truly was, but I wouldn't have traded it for the world. If it wasn't for my sisters, I might not have received the opportunity to truly let my light shine.

Thank you for allowing me to be apart of something bigger than myself. You go through life joining clubs and teams and getting involved in groups, but nothing is quite like sharing a bond with millions of women worldwide. You don't even know half of the women that share that same values as you, but they are there and willing to lend a hand whenever that may be. I thought it was awesome to be a part of my softball teams and my dance teams because I was the type of person who wanted small groups. Then AOII came along and changed that for me. It made me realize that being part of something way bigger than yourself is undeniably the most rewarding thing you can do. I will always know in my heart that no matter where I am, there is always going to be a sister right around the corner.

Thank you for giving me something that is lifelong, something that will forever be constant. I might be entering my last year in Alpha Omicron Pi, but that doesn't mean it's over. Even though your collegiate years come to an end, another door opens. It's sad to watch them go but there isn't a moment that I will look back on and wish I did differently. AOII has given me something that I can never truly repay it for: an everlasting love and bond with some of the most amazing women I have ever encountered.

Thank you for giving me room to grow. When I received my bid from Alpha Omicron Pi, it was because they saw the values in me which our sorority holds the highest. Not only did they see that I valued the same things as AOII's everywhere, but they saw potential in me. They didn't just see me for who I was, but what they knew I could grow in to be. Their goal was never to change me, it was to better me. It was to make me the best version of myself. Not just for their own good, but my own. They knew that by being a member of AOII I would be able to blossom into a beautiful woman who could take the world by storm.

So thank you Alpha Omicron Pi. You have never let me down or failed me. You have made me feel beautiful on my darkest days. You have encouraged me and lifted me up when I didn't think it was possible. You gave me friends that would love me unconditionally. You taught me what it meant to be a leader, a sister, and someone who others could look up to. You gave me tough love and taught me how to be a fighter. You gave me the best moments of my college career. You gave me hope when I didn't believe in myself. You gave me endless smiles and laughs. You gave me strength and courage. You taught me patience. You taught me how to love so well. You taught me forgiveness. You gave me more than I could ever ask for and I only hope to give back half of what you have given me.

That isn't even the best part, though, you gave me the greatest gift of all: you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
