Choosing a party theme or outfit for a party is always a struggle, but with a little bit of help, I know you can conquer any themed party or social.
Here is a list of themes for parties and socials that everyone loves and can easily find clothing for.
'ABC' Party: There are a few ways to do this theme. One being the typical “Anything but clothes” party where you wear anything but actual physical clothes. For example, duct tape, garbage bags, left over cardboard beer or Franzia boxes, you know, classy things. The second option is “Dress like something that starts with the first letter of your name.” An example would be Hipster Hannah. This is obviously the less fun option.
America Party: Red, white, and blue, because ‘MURICA.
Around the World: Apparel AND alcohol from around the world.
Beach: An excuse to break out the bikinis and chubbies.
“Blackouts anonymous”: A personal favorite, you wear all black and are given a nametag to create a nickname to go by for the night.
CEOs and Office… ladies: A real crowd pleaser, dress like you run the office.
Cops and Robbers: Men be cops, women be robbers, or vice versa.
Cross dress party: The premise of this party seems obvious, however it may not be appealing to either gender in actual execution.
Decades: Choose a decade and embrace it. Who doesn’t love pretending to be a Pink Lady or a Roller Disco participant.
Flannels and Handles: Dressing like a Lumberjack, or the female equivalent, Lumberjill, is quite fun and comfortable, and everyone loves the handles aspect of this theme.
Foam Party: Okay, so these can get pretty gross because everyone is covered in foam together, but it will without a doubt be a story to tell and has potential for some great Instagram opportunities.
GI Joes and Army… ladies: Pretend to be in the army for the night. Everyone looks good in camo and Timberlands.
Golf Pros and Tennis… ladies: Essentially whip out all your Southern Proper and Vineyard vines, because this is a glorified country club theme. Pastel and boat shoes everywhere.
Graffiti: Everyone wears white and people are given sharpies to write anything on the shirts. Everyone will end up with a shirt with many explicit and inappropriate things on it.
Great Gatsby: One of my all time favorite books and party theme. Dress like Gatsby, Nick Carraway, Daisy, or pretend you are from the 20s. Prepare for one classy shindig.
HALLOWEEN: The party to end all parties. Dress however you want, but always dress to impress.
Handcuff party: Handcuff two people together for a specified time so everyone can get to meet new people.
High School Stereotypes: Nerds, jocks, populars, band geeks, stoners, and more. Prepare to relive those cringe-worthy high school days.
Mathletes and athletes: You can choose what you want to dress like, but either way go all out nerd or jock for the best night.
Olympics: This can be done multiple ways, but my favorite is splitting everyone up into teams by country and turning it into an epic Beerlympics. ·
Pajama party: Rock that onsie at a frat party for comfort and fun!
Sports Bros and Yoga… ladies: The boys dress like athletes and the girls get to wear all the Lululemon and Pink to their hearts desire.
Stoplight party: Wear green if you are single, yellow if its complicated, and red if you are taken. I am not sure how I feel about this party yet, but some people love it!
Tight and bright: Wear anything and everything tight AND bright. Basically a rave party.
Toga: The classic frat party theme. Look up on YouTube how to make a toga out of a sheet and probably struggle with it all night, but you still go hard like they do Animal House anyways.
Ugly Sweater: Around Christmas time this is the most popular party, and rightfully so since all the sweaters are hilarious.
Wild West: Break out the cowboy boots and denim for this classic theme that is fun for everyone!
The list could go on forever, but these are some themes that I personally enjoy and have participated in in the past. Be sure to suggest some of your favorites to your social chairs, they will love the help!
