So 2016 started off relatively alright, but now approaching a quarter into the year, it is safe to say that A LOT has happened.
Kim Kardashian-West supposedly “broke the Internet” again, which is an accomplishment in itself for doing something impossible…twice. The important thing, of course, was that it only took a controversial nude/censored picture, depending on the way you look at it. In the style of all controversial topics, a twitter feud with many opinions was the result.
Presidential campaigns have been quite attention-grasping. Who knows what is going to happen? At this rate, a zombie apocalypse could be plausible. Okay, that may be stretching it just a bit. But a wall might be in the talks…so calling all “The Walking Dead” fans. Yeah, that is going to turn out just dandy for us.
This year is a leap year, so does that technically mean that students had to go to school an extra day? Gasp! I don’t know. Possibly, maybe. That could mean an extra day of homework.
Also, this year marked the homecoming of Astronaut Scott Kelly. For those who do not know, Kelly has returned to the mainland after being in Outer Space for about a year. He grew two inches, just for him to shrink back down to his normal height, but all that jazz can be discussed here.
There has been a lot of loss in regards to TV shows. Many stations have decided to clean house. However, there are a few interesting ones that are coming about. "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" is definitely one to keep an eye on. Hopefully, it does well as its predecessor which has been around for eleven years. Root, Root! The probie show is starring Gary Since, who is no stranger to the world of crime as he previously played Mac Taylor of the hit show “CSI: NY”. You can check out “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” on CBS on Wednesdays at 10/9 central after “Criminal Minds.” CBS is also premiering another crime-based show, "Rush Hour," which is based on the famous movie franchise starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. You can catch the series premiere of “Rush Hour” March 31 at 10/9 central.
We received a blast from the past with “Fuller House,” a sequel of the '90s sitcom, “Full House.” News has it that the show has been renewed for a second season.
More on the topic of TV shows: Michael Weatherly, also known as Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo, will be leaving CBS’ "NCIS" at the end of the show’s thirteenth season. Although as sources have it, Weatherly will not be leaving CBS. The talented actor will star in the new drama, "Dr. Bull," as a young Dr. Phil and will focus on Phil’s work that he did before landing his TV Show. Real-life Dr. Phil will serve as an executive producer.
Leonardo DiCaprio received his first Oscar after so many years. Amongst all the excitement came great disappointment for all those memes are now useless in meaning, well at least for now. Rest in peace memes.
With still a little more than 3/4ths of the year left, let us prepare for what’s to come next.
