I refuse to support the Black Lives Matter movement. No, it's not because I'm a "privileged white girl." It's because I believe that All Lives Matter. I believe that singling out one race will only put our society further back than it already is.

The Black Lives Matter movement isn't promoting equality.

They are promoting singularity in their own race, rather than the inclusion of everyone. African-American lives are no more important than any other race's life, the same way any other race's life is not more important than an African-American life. If a race wants equality for themselves, why single themselves out? Why make it seem like they are targeting themselves for more hatred? I cannot speak for everyone when I make this statement, but I don't look at African-Americans as bad people based on the color of their skin. As a matter of fact, I don't look at anyone as a product of their skin color. After all, it's just a skin color. It does not define a human being. What defines someone is their actions, and clearly the ones taken by this movement are only looking out for themselves.

In fact, they are looking for retribution and "justice" by causing harm to those who have caused it to them.

It is impossible to trump hatred with hatred, and the only way hatred can be eliminated is through love and equality. So why is it that "peaceful protests" become madhouses with the shooting of officers? It is impossible to ignore recent news, such as the events in Dallas where a Black Lives Matter protest turned into an assassination of officers. Or how about the events of Ferguson where officers basically had to be in militant-style formation because African-Americans took "justice" into their own hands. Since when did it become acceptable for anybody to attack officers? The men and women in blue are the ones who put their lives on the line for us. The ones who risk their lives to protect us daily.

They seek retribution through blaming all who are of a particular race or group, rather than blaming bad apples who caused the tragic events.

All cops are not bad cops. All whites are not bad whites, yet for some reason, cops and whites are the ones targeted by this movement. I have seen posts via Twitter and Facebook where people of the Black Lives Matter movement have said that it is "Open Season" on whites and cops. Why blame all when it is the actions of a few? Why target entire groups of people for actions that we did not take? There are people of every race who have been killed by cops. There are people of every race who have dealt with police brutality. Although certain actions of officers cannot be justified, the bottom line follows that if you disrespect police, they will take action. I have been called a "privileged white girl" for voicing my opinions on saying that I want equality of all yet there is no movement called "White Lives Matter" sweeping the nation. What there is, is a Black Lives Matter Movement that refuses to promote equality rather than singularity. What "privileges" are whites entitled to over an African-American person?

None. The answer is none.

It's 2016. African-Americans have undoubtedly come an extremely long way. For the past eight years, our nation has been ran by an African-American president. That is an extreme accomplishment for a race that has endured hatred from the start. Take a look at television -- some of the major stars are African-American. Or how about the BET awards? Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles, two African-American women, are leading the gymnastic world to the Olympics. In the music world, African-Americans are more than represented by people of their color. Equality in job hiring processes are also a thing of our time, as there are many African-Americans who are doctors, lawyers, and even cops.

But still, racism goes both ways. It isn't just singular to African-Americans like the Black Lives Matter movement makes it out to be.

Words like the n word can be thrown around among people of color, yet the second a white person were to use it, all hell would break loose. Whites get called "cracker" or "white boy or girl" in a derogatory sense to show that we are below people of color. Whites also get called "Republican-biased hillbillies" because of the support for law enforcement, justice, and equality. Racism is a term solely based on the color of a person's skin. If skin color is only skin deep, why is it still looked at as a good or bad thing?

Hate cannot be fueled by hate, and the stigma of one race being better than another needs to come to an end.

We, as an American society, should be ashamed of ourselves. There is a flat-out war over the name of a movement -- whites vs. Black Lives Matter, All Lives Matter vs. Black Lives Matter, and law enforcement vs. Black Lives Matter. However, the only commonalities between the three are Black Lives Matter, and the truth is that we are all human. In the end, equality will be the only thing that can bring all of us together as one.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
