1. Seeing all of your friends after the long break

After about a month apart, you might not see your housemates/friends/classmates due to the fact that they live in different states. After the long break apart, your friend group may have a crazy, emotional and awesome reunion when first seeing each other.
2. Having left overs to last you for the next month

Hopefully after being home for the holidays, your parents give you enough leftover food in tupperware containers to last you easily for the next month. Having a little taste of home while you're away for the full semester will definitely minimize being homesick and be friendly to your wallet and meal swipes.
3. Getting used to dining hall food again

Having some food from home will also help you avoid some of the sketchy dining hall options. But, sooner or later, you're gonna have to get back into the swing of modifying the dining hall foods to enhance them.
4. Your first Friday night out

Here is what we've been waiting for since the day we left, the first Friday night out of the semester. This usually is a whirlwind of burning your hair with straighteners/curling irons, pictures that you don't remember taking, and regretting that sixth shot you took. This Friday night should be a Rutgers-wide holiday.
5. The raging hangover the next day

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and you'll more than likely wake up with a hangover. You wake up searching for any water bottle you can find chug the whole thing and lay in bed for the rest of the day attempting to recover and piece together everything from the night before. Hopefully you're able to find your phone, keys, wallet...and well...pants.
6. Getting to eat all of the Rutger Classics

You now have access again to the best foods in New Jersey! From fat sandwiches, the entire menu at Hansel n Griddle, the to-die-for strombolis at Stuff Yer Face and everything in between, you can finally have your favorite treats again!
7. Having a new schedule with different classes

Whether you changed major, just declared a major, or this is your final semester before graduation, a new semester with new classes is so exciting! Walking into a class with some new classmates and a new teacher can be refreshing, and having that
positivity can help you really take away everything you can from the class!
8. Having a fresh new start to a new year

A new year can bring a fresh start and a clean slate that you are able to make whatever you want with it. Make resolutions, take risks, make mistakes, and learn from every opportunity that comes your way.
