Maryland is a great state, some even say the United States should be referred to as "Maryland and its 49 b******"! Although there are tons of great qualities of Maryland, here are 11 things that people who were raised in Maryland can agree on:
1. We have the coolest flag design.
No if ands or buts about this one! Usually everyplace you go at least one person is rocking the some kind of Maryland apparel.
2. Maryland has the best seafood.
If you are from Maryland you know that we have quality seafood and other states just do not compare.
3. High school team rivals are not just for TV shows.
Friday night football games are the highlight of your fall nights, the competitions gets pretty intense!
4. There is something for everyone.
Whether you prefer the indoors or outdoors, Maryland has endless beaches and some great malls!
5. You are not just a plain driver, you are a Maryland driver.
This means you drive like you are in D.C. or the city 24/7, when leaving Maryland the driving is so much different (much calmer).
6. The only mess you don't hate is from crab picking.
If Maryland is known for anything it is the blue crab and it is delicious and worth the mess!
7. If you don't know what to season something with, I bet you Old Bay will taste good on it.
Obviously Marylanders love their seafood, but they love their old bay spice even more, whether it is on seafood, chicken, or french fries!
8. You get to experience all four seasons.
Let me repeat that: you get summer, fall, winter and spring!
9. Depending on who you ask you are from a Northern OR a Southern state.
Maryland is technically the south, but those in the south think we are the north, and those in the north think we are the south!
10. You can visit D.C. whenever you please.
Maryland basically surrounds D.C. so you can easily take a day trip to the nations capital!
11. Our favorite word is Y'all.
Y'all is the best word ever created and if you don't like it, we don't care because it is natural for us to say it in our everyday vocabulary!
