When it comes to needing a helping hand, it’s yourself that you should depend on. When the world feels like it’s coming to an end, just remember to take a breather and know that you can help yourself because you are one strong individual. That is my advice that I have to offer for you readers and myself as well; think, breathe, and plan because the best help is your own.
All throughout middle school and high school, guidance counselors and advisors are available but sometimes it’s not always the help you need and want. However, take it from me that when it comes to college, it doesn’t get any easier. Now I’m not trying to scare you, I’m just simply putting this out there. There are some days where you can see your advisors and counselors and have all the help in the world, and then there are other days where you’re really stressing, and you kind of have to rely on yourself.
It’s most definitely one of the worst feelings in the world when you feel like no one is there for you to help but the best you can do is make use of your resources, and don’t just stop at asking advisors for help, but rather ask teachers/professors as well for their advice. Most of the time that’s what I do if my advisor isn’t available, but sometimes I end up being on my own in making a decision and that’s totally fine! It’s okay to do things on your own because it makes you stronger and builds character throughout the whole process as well.
It is really great to have all these helping hands available to you, but it’s even better when you believe in yourself and stay positive throughout the stress loads you are dealing with. Only you know how to make yourself happier and less stressed, and therefore, your own help is the best kind. My advice to you is that when no one else can help you or no one else is available, don’t panic because you know you got this and can achieve any goal you choose to strive for if you set your mind to it!
