Are you super excited to be able to go out this summer and spend time with friends and family? Is trying to keep cool an issue for you? No need to worry, because here are 5 tips of Advice on keeping cool while you are out of the house.

1. Japan: carry a parasol

In Japan, it is popular to use a parasol to block out UV rays from the sun. While in America it is popular to tan, it is the opposite in Asian countries. Besides the sunscreen to block out the sun, these parasols are different from just a plain umbrella. They not only block out the sun, but they also prevent you from getting tan (for those who don't like getting tan). If you don't have a parasol, then a regular umbrella can be a decent substitute. However, you may be stared at strangely since people will wonder why you're using an umbrella when it's not raining. Yes, I've done this before, and still do!

2. Korea: eat spicy food

Why is that important to know? Let me try to explain this simply. They believe that consuming hot or spicy foods is a way of stimulating sweat, which is the body’s natural cooling system. So if you happen to know any Korean restaurants near you, stop on in and give it a try. There's all sorts of spicy food like Kimchi, Ddeokbokki, Jjolmyeon, and so on. And who knows. It just may work for you!

3. The Philippines: enjoy cold baths and Halo-Halo

Looks like they did the ice bucket challenge before we did! In the Philippines, most people there don't have warm water or even showers at all. Those who primarily squat or live in other places (depending on their lifestyles and social status) have only cold water they get from pumps (and who knows where else). They use a huge bucket to collect the water and bring it back to their houses. They then use a tabo (a small bucket, with a easy to grip handle for one hand) and dunk it in the bigger bucket to gather water and use it for their baths. Luckily, the weather over there is always warm so it's refreshing at least. After that, a treat of Halo-Halo (popular dessert of shaved ice and evaporated milk and various ingredients such as boiled sweet beans, coconut, gulaman, fruits, and so on) is a great way to beat the constant heat.

4. China: consume fresh fruits and water

Eat more cold food, mostly salads and fruit that contain water. Also, don't forgot to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

5. Thailand: go to the mall

When all else fails, take a trip to the mall! Instead of wasting money on a fan at home, why not go where it's free? Walking around the mall can also do you good as you are getting some physical activity by just walking around. You can shop, browse, eat, and get out of the heat for a bit.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
