Every girl loves getting her nails done. It takes relaxation and treating yourself to another level of self-love. There are different shapes, styles and colors that can be used to express yourself in many ways. As a girl who's been getting her nails done since the 10th grade, I have gone through every nail struggle you can think of. To the natural gals that like their nails short and sweet, I love you but this is not for you. This is for my special kind of girls that like their nails long and sexy. Below I list seven struggles that I seem to experience every day that I'm sure my fellow long acrylic ladies can relate to.

1. Choosing a nail color

Now, this isn't just for girls with long nails, I'm sure everyone can relate. Picking a nail color is one of the hardest decision to ever make in life. So many colors, options.. should I get a regular color? chrome? glitter? I can't decide!

2. Someone ALWAYS commenting on your length.

"How do you wipe your butt with those nails?" the same way you do betty, now please move along.

3. Sliding or retrieving your card from any type of slot.

The struggle is real. It takes me a good 10 minutes to get my card out of a slot. Eventually, I get frustrated or I begin to panic because I'm holding up the line. God forbid if someone says "You can't do anything with those nails."

4. Picking up change.

Having to pick up change off the floor with long nails is one of the hardest things ever especially if someone is watching. Please don't stand there and watch me struggle to pick up this dime.

5. Being cautious about breaking a nail.

Sometimes the nail tech doesn't lay a great foundation which causes the nail to break easier, especially if the nails are long. Please be careful, we must protect our nails at all cost.

6. Scooping something out a jar.

Whether you're putting on chapstick, getting some vaseline, lotion or whatever it may be in that jar, you already know you're about to struggle to get it out. Tip: scoop with the front of your nail, not the back.

7. Having them be the wrong shape.

Let's be real some local nail shops have no clue what they are doing when it comes to shaping nails correctly, especially when it comes to longer nails. They do the nail shape wrong and still have the nerve to charge that extra $5. No thanks.

Yes, the struggle may be real but thats just what comes with this lifestyle. Having long acrylics is a aesthetic and lifestyle that everyone can not live. It takes a special kind of a girl to handle that extra length. To anyone else who wants know, yes, we can wipe our butts perfectly fine. Thank you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
