The ABC's of Merrimack College definitely aren't the same ones you learned in kindergarten. Here are 26 things all Merrimack students are all too familiar with, making this the place we've learned to love.
A is for Augustinian Catholic
Founded in the Catholic Augustinian faith, Merrimack upholds the values of community, spirituality, and service.
B is for the Beacon
Your go-to place for campus news.
C is for Community
Whether it's holding the door open behind you or seeing at least three people you know every time you walk onto campus, Merrimack takes pride in its community atmosphere.
D is for Dunkin' Donuts
Because no student would make it through their 8 am class without an iced caramel swirl coffee- plus, it's a huge bonus having Dunks on the meal plans.
E is for Expansion
Everything seems to be expanding here from the residential halls to the number of students on campus, making Merrimack bigger and better than before.
F is for (5) Fix
Whether its a burnt out lightbulb or a dead fire alarm battery, they got you.
G is for Gatti
The brick residential hall near Monican for upperclassmen? Nope, not O'Brien, but Gatti.
H is for the Housing Selection Process
Enough said.
I is for Involvement
The best way to meet people and fall in love with Merrimack is to get involved. Whether it be athletics, study abroad, clubs, or an on-campus job there really is something for everybody.
J is for Jobs
Realize it or not, the main reason we're here is to get a job in the future. With a 97 percent success rate for helping students find job placements, graduate schools, or long-term service opportunities within nine months of graduation, the O'Brien Center for Student Success is the go-to place on campus.
K is for Keep Changing Your Password
With the amount of times MyMack makes students reset their passwords, it's a miracle if they can remember what it is on the first try.
L is for Lunchtime Rush at Sparky's
Good luck trying to get a table at noon during the week.
M is for Mendel Pond
After a leak last fall left the fish struggling to stay alive, the pond is finally fixed and back to being the #1 spot on campus to take an artsy Instagram.
N is for North Andover
Located 25 miles north of Boston in suburban North Andover, Merrimack could not have a more perfect location.
O is for Orientation
As a freshmen coming into Merrimack, you're nervous. But after a night in June and moving in three days earlier than the rest of the school, you're more than ready for the next four years here.
P is for Parking Lot K
You know, that dimly parking lot in the very back of campus we always complain about walking to.
Q is for the Quad
Because nothing sounds more fun than standing in a large crowd outside the apartments.
R is for the Radio Station- WMCK
Opened in the Fall of 2015, WMCK is Merrimack's very own internet radio station with student run shows playing five days per week. No matter what your favorite genre of music is, there's something for everyone.
S is for Spring Weekend
Warmer weather, Fetty Wap, and corn hole- what else could a college student ask for?
T is for Taco Tuesday
aka the best day of the week.
U is for Uber
For some reason, the Uber drivers are the only people on campus who ever seem to know where Walsh Way is.
V is for Vacation
Perk of going to a Catholic college is a spring and an Easter break.
W is for Warriors
On or off the field, Merrimack students take pride in their mascot, the Warriors.
X is for X-ing 114
Even with the shuttle running 24 hours a day, crossing Route 114 just seems like the quickest way to get to Royal Crest, but definitely not the safest.
Y is for the Yearly Tuition
Love the school, hate the price.
Z is for Zime
Which is probably the reason why you're out of meal points before the semester is even halfway over.
