You've been out of highschool for two years now and will be a rising junior at Siena College in the fall. Wow, that's crazy. You decided to leave Syracuse behind and head to Albany for seven months out of the year. You find comfort in Albany. It's a home away from home situation. You picture yourself living there after you graduate from Siena. You made a good choice.
You have realized that you are capable of anything you put your mind to. You are trying to figure out what you want to do after college. You are thinking about getting a doctorate in psychology or forensics. Could you imagine putting "Dr." in front of your name? Insane. You have worked so hard to be on the Dean's list every semester of freshman and sophomore year. You have been able to continue to cheerlead in college, which is amazing.
You've made some new friends, and said goodbye to some old ones.
But that's okay, because your college friends are absolutely amazing. They love you for who you are, quirkiness and all. They push you to be a better person. They push you to do things out of your comfort zone. They have given you memories that will last a lifetime. They make you laugh until your stomach hurts. They will dance and sing with you at all hours of the day. They'll cry with you. You guys have heart to heart conversations at three o'clock in the morning. And they will always be at three in the morning.
You are still in touch with your highschool friends, but you have realized that it's okay to move on from high school. They have hurt in you the past, and FINALLY, you don't let them affect you. You don't want to completely cut them out of your life, but I don't think they realize that. Maybe one day they'll ask why you distance yourself from them. But for now it is what it is, and you are okay with that.
You have changed, and it's for the better. You have matured A LOT. You don't let people walk all over you anymore. You don't argue with your parents as much as you did in high school. You have realized what type of friends you deserve. You are happy with where life is taking you.
And I am really proud of you.
(P.S. - you are not a blonde anymore which is very surprising. I never thought you would go back to a darker hair color lol.)
