Smells like teen spirit. If you love Dunkaroos, taking care of your Tamagotchis (RIP), setting your AIM away status, Lip Smackers and butterfly clips then this is the article for you. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, then you were born in the wrong decade. Here are the current trends that all 90's babies know and love that prove we haven’t fully moved on. We’re living in a different decade, and we’re totally OK with it.

1. Chokers

Chokers are back and better than ever. The OG choker is the one that looks like a stretchy hairball around your neck. Bonus points if yours was rainbow back in the days when your biggest commitment was waiting for your Easy Bake oven to ding. Today, you can find chokers made of various materials, including but not limited to: denim, bandanas, velvet or lace. I’m waiting for Apple to make a charging choker.

2. Juicy Sweatsuits

Track is back! 90's babies know this look all too well. In the early 2000s, we couldn’t be seen in the halls without “Juicy” gracing our pre-pubescent butts. [Cue “Lip Gloss” by Lil Mama.] If there wasn’t a little “J” charm hanging in front of your Sugar Lips shirt, we most definitely could not be friends. This was the start of the “I look good but I’m not trying too hard” look. On July 12th, 2016, Juicy Couture released a video in honor of their new Fall line. #TrackIsBack. As Regina George would say, “Sweatpants are all that fit me right now.”

3. Pokémon

Gotta catch ‘em all! Pokémon Go was officially released on July 7th, 2016, and is taking the world by Poké Ball! Players are encouraged to leave their homes and travel (by whatever means necessary) to find Pokémon. We used to love this game in between rounds of Super Mario Bros and Snood.

4. "Fuller House"

“You got it, dude!” 90's babies love "Full House," so there’s no surprise "Fuller House" would have created more seasons for us to follow the family we love so much! I mean seriously, “how rude!” that we lost touch with Uncle Jesse for so long. We can’t wait any longer for season 2!

5. Blink 182

Blink 182 is back! “California” is now officially out! If this was the good ole days, we would be listening on our Walkman, but I guess our IPhone will have to do. It’s been a while since “All The Small Things” was number one on the Billboards, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still on our pregame playlists.

6. Denim

Denim skirts, denim overalls, denim hats, denim chokers, denim jackets, denim shirts, denim days. Although the horseshoes from True Religion aren’t stitched onto our back pockets these days, the trend still stuck. These days it’s impossible to go into any clothing store without seeing denim on every rack. I guess we can thank our mothers for putting us in overalls, 20 years later, it’s still trendy.

7. Scrunchies

All 90's girls wore their hair half-up half-down with a banana split on top! There was nothing better than tying our hair up with an oversized scrunchie. These scrunchies are still in style, and now with even more fun prints. A 90s betch can’t leave the house without one.

8. Doc Martens

These grungy boots helped your attitude when you told your mom you weren’t doing homework today. These boots are still in style and helping our clothes match our resting b*tch faces.

9. Bandanas

Just like your color war days or field day at school, bandanas are all the rage! Bandanas used to hold our hair back while playing tug of war. These days, people are tying them around their necks like flight attendants. I just made that sound so unappealing, but trust me, it’s super cute.

10. "Girl Meets World"

We grew up loving the relationships Topanga, Cory and Shawn made, and we all wished we had a teacher like Mr. Feeny. More than a decade later, Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley, is helping us relive our tween days. All the feels.

11. Body glitter

Although we used to roll it on, we are still accepting of body spray with glitter. Body glitter used to be a daily occurrence, but we are OK with just using it for music festivals.

12. Adidas

These are the sneakers your mother put you in back in the 90's and now you find yourself searching for your size all over the internet. This time with many more varieties. These days, you can’t go anywhere without seeing some basic betch wearing them. Clearly, history repeats itself.

13. Birkenstocks

These strappy sandals were the one of the biggest trends in the 90s, and after a short hiatus when they were replaced with Crocs, they are back now -- hopefully for good this time. Doubling as a comfy and trendy shoe, Birkenstocks are worn by everyone from your trail mix carrying uncle to your trendy best friend.

14. Patches

Patched denim is covering the trends these days. Just like you used to have back in the day, you can now have your grown-up sized jean jacket covered in your initials.

15. Backpacks

Jansport was your go-to back in the day, but today, backpacks are still the hottest trend. Instead of carry a purse, 90's babies can be found with a trendy leather backpack carrying all of their essentials. Bonus points if you have a dope pencil case, too.

16. Temporary tats

You know, the ones you got out of the vending machine at your local grocery store or bowling alley. These things are still in. Except these days, you can’t let it fade off, instead you have to rub it off frantically before work. But nonetheless, it’s not a party without them.

17. Band shirts

We might’ve moved on from the Abercrombie and Fitch graphic tees, but we still have a place in our hearts for that vintage band tee. There’s nothing like wearing your ripped jeans and band shirt. Thanks, LF, for fueling our love.

18. Two French braids

See #9: Bandanas. Underneath our bandanas, you know we were rocking two French braids. It was either to keep from getting lice or to participate in sports. Now days, we are straight up rocking French braids for fashion.

19. Justin Timberlake

We have always been obsessed with JT. Whether it was during his NSYNC days, his Britney days, or his “SexyBack” days. Well, JT is at it again with “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” And when you see Andy Samberg’s movie, “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping,” you’ll love him even more.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
