Back in the day, when Internet Explorer was a thing, when the internet was always slow, when computer monitors were dinosaurs compared to today's sleek Retina display technology, these online games were everything. Whenever my mom gave my sister and me the "OK" to use the computer, we would go straight to these websites and take turns playing these nostalgic Flash games.

1. DisneyChannel.Disney.com

"Bueno Rufus"

"Lizzie McGuire Dress Up"

"A Sitch In Time"

2. CartoonNetwork.com

" Summer Resort"

"Courage the Cowardly Dog Creep TV"

"Powerpuff Girls Pillow Fight Game"

Fortunately, you can still play some of these games on CartoonNetwork.com/games.

3. Barbie.com

In 2001:

In 2004:

" Barbie of Swan Lake"

4. MyScene.com

"Shopping Spree"

Some of the games are still around, even though the actual website isn't.

5. PollyPocket.com

"Dolphin Ride"

They still have some of the old Polly Pocket games on the official Polly Pocket website.

6. Nickelodeon.com

"Fry Cook Flip Out"

"The Rugrats Escalator Escape" Game

7. NickJr.com

"Oswald's Specials of the Day"

8. Neopets.com

While this website is still very much alive today, Neopia Central is just a bit more updated than the one we saw as kids.

In the early 2000s:

Today:

9. Divastarz.com

The Diva Starz dolls were only popular for a short amount of time, between 2000 and 2004, but I definitely spent hours on these games choosing the perfect shoes to go with the cutest outfits when my sister wasn't around to play dolls with.

While dealing with slow Internet connection was certainly a struggle, these online games were definitely my childhood.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
