Because we all know you're thinking it.

9 Thoughts Going Into Your Senior Year of College
Jordyn Smith

1. Where did time go?

I remember moving into the dorms and thinking about how I have four years ahead of me and now before I knew it, I'm in my last year. It really does go by fast, and continues to go by faster everyday.

2. I wish I was a freshman again.

Times were simpler and knowing what I know now, I would do a few things differently. Also, I wouldn't have taken Sutter Dining for granted. I mean who doesn't having their meals cooked for them?

3. What if I don't get a job?

Okay, so now that I've done my four years of college, am I even going to land a job with my degree? I've worked so hard, and I hope it pays off.

4. How the hell am I going to pay for this?

Figuring out how I'm going to pay off my student loans is at the top of my list. Sure, I might find a good job that pays a decent salary, but how am I going to pay the rest of my bills at the same time?

5. Am I going to be successful?

Success to me is achieving my goals and being happy where I'm at in life (but making a lot of money doing so would be nice too.)

6. YOLO

It's my last year. So why not go out on a Tuesday? Why not go on random road trips to nowhere the weekend before finals week? It's the last year to let loose and forget about my responsibilities before I hit the real world in May. Let's go all out.

7. I'm so lucky to have met the people I did.

Whether it was Freshman year in the dorms, or just last semester, I have been blessed with some pretty rad people to walk with on this crazy journey called college. Every person I've met has impacted my life in some way and helped get me where I am today. That's pretty cool.

8. Thank you Mom & Dad.

You've been there for me through it all. The stressful nights, the highest accomplishments and everything in between. I may have called you more in the last four years than in my entire life, but I knew I could always count on you to give me the best advice.

9. Thank you Chico State.

Even though the future seems scary, I couldn't feel more prepared. You've taught me a lot inside and outside of the classroom. Juggling school, work, and a social life was put to test, but I do it and will use these skills throughout my life.

Here's to the future and the Class of 2017. I hope your life is filled with nothing but success, love, and happiness. Never forget where you came from because once a wildcat, always a wildcat. Now let's kick Senior year's ass!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
