What is Star Wars? If it ever came up in conversation or someone cracked a joke about it, I would always just nod my head or laugh to pretend like I got the reference. I’ve never seen any of the movies, and aside from being able to identify the iconic song, know nothing about the series.

So, from an outsider’s perspective, here’s what it looks like and all I could tell you about it:

1. I know this guy is in it. He’s someone’s dad, right? He also seems to have a breathing problem...asthma, perhaps?

2. And obvs, the iconic double-cinnamon bun hair girl. Probs where Miley got her inspiration from.

3. They play with these pretty cool giant glow sticks.

4. I know this creature-thing talks funny and dresses in some sort of sack-like garb.

5. This very large, very hairy man makes loud noises.

6. Is it me or is every single scene in the desert?? Plz Lmk

7. Not sure if they actually dance like this in the movies (if so, I am intrigued), but I know Barney Stinson has one of these in his living room in How I Met Your Mother.

8. Gabba? Jabba? Something like that? Idk, this thing just looks like a pile of sh*t to me…

9. Not gonna lie, once pronounced it “jed-ee” — may never live it down.

(But you can see my confusion, right?? Like wtf is this?)

For my own sake, I know I probably should do more research on this topic, even if only to gain a better understanding of the majority...

Probably beyond clear early on in this article, I need some enlightenment. Someone please explain to me what this franchise is all about.
