The transition from high school to college is not easy, especially when you go from top dog to lowest of the low. Here are nine things that happen to the average college freshman.
1. Struggling to pack up the past 18 years of your life.
Suddenly every little thing has a symbolic meaning, causing you to break down on the floor of your room.
2. Calling your parents begging them to let you come home.
The first few weeks is a hard adjustment. Who better to call than your mom?
3. Getting lost on the way to one or more classes.
Not only are you lost, but you're afraid to ask anyone around you for fear of looking like a typical freshman.
4. Trying to do your laundry but all the machines are taken.
After sorting your clothes, you make the trek to the laundry room, just to find out every washer is full.
5. Having a sudden desire to purchase everything, even if you don't really need it.
You can never have too many shirts.
6. Being asked "what is your major?" and "what do you want to do with your life?" on a daily basis.
These are everyone's go to ice breakers, so you find yourself talking about this subject way too frequently.
7. Your diet consists of strictly dining hall food.
You didn't appreciate your moms home cooking until now, huh?
8. You no longer have a sleep schedule.
Now that you're in college, you don't have time to sleep. Napping and coffee become your go to's.
9. Waking up everyday for your 8 am class and realizing the terrible mistake you've made.
When you signed up for classes, you didn't understand the consequences of an early class. But you do now, and you regret absolutely everything.
