Most of us (exempting the only children, of course) have siblings that we look like. However, when you and your sibling could pass for twins, it's a whole different story. Here are some things that only people with siblings that look like their twin experience!
1. Strangers mistake you for actual twins at least once a week.
Whether you're out to eat, at the mall, or simply the grocery store, at least one person asks if you're twins wherever you go. Sometimes you just say yes because it saves about 10 minutes of "are you sure's" as if you wouldn't really know if you came out of the womb at the same time.
2. When you look at baby pictures you can't tell who's who.
"AW, mom look how cute I was!"
"That's your sister"
"Oh..."
3. When you're in public with your niece/nephew people look at you like they're your kid... And it doesn't help that they look like you too.
It's awkward enough dealing with the stares from strangers as you bring your tiny niece/nephew in public without your sibling, but the fact that they look like you too puts the judgmental stares on a whole new level.
4. Your own family mistakes one of you for the other sometimes
Especially when they can only see you from behind. It doesn't help that there really isn't a height or hair color difference either.
5. The two of you don't think you look all that alike.
When people constantly say you look alike you kind of just look at each other and shrug.
6. When you two post a picture on Instagram your comments are filled with nothing but "TWINS!"
And it's kind of funny!
7. Their significant other has given you a hug thinking you were your sibling at least once in your life.
