9 Reasons Why I Love My Job
Memories By Lexi

Working is a part of life and it is something that everyone will experience. Not only does working help out financially, it also contributes to character development and helps build relationships. I am very fortunate to have a job in the first place, but I also LOVE my job.

In today's world, many people cannot genuinely say they love their job, but not in my case. Yes, some days are rougher than others, but at the end of the day, I always leave with a smile because I know how blessed I am to be there. So, here are my top 10 reasons why I absolutely love my job!

1. I Work With My Favorite Animal
I get the wonderful opportunity to work with dogs at a dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility called Woofer's! I have always had a huge passion and love for dogs, so the fact that I get to spend a big part of my day with them is just amazing.

2. The Variety
We see so many dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments walk through our door. They all enjoy spending time with us as much as we love spending time with them. Another part about my job that rocks is the fact that we treat the dogs who go to Woofer's like our own dogs. We continuously show them the love and affection they deserve while they are away from their homes to keep them as happy and worry free as possible.

3. Each Day Is Different
Since I am there a majority of the week, I get to experience something new everyday! No day is ever the same and we do not encounter the same obstacles everyday. I love this because I enjoy learning new things and dealing with things that may come my way. I feel as though this helps me grow as a person and always keeps me on my toes.

4. Interacting With The Customers
During the morning drop off rush and afternoon pick up rush, I get to interact with the owners and get to know them a little bit. They are always happy to see their dog after a long day, and enjoy the fact that their dog had a fun and playful day. I have actually gotten to know several of the customers very well and I always get excited to talk to them. I also love seeing their face light up when they see their dog; it is so great to know that people genuinely love their dogs because dogs are such a gift to this world.

5. It Is My Second Home
I have been working at Woofer's for over 3 years now, and I consider it my second home. I am comfortable there, I always feel safe, and most of all, I always feel welcomed. The people who work there with me are like my second family. I love to hear all of the stories, advice, and life lessons. Also, we give each other a little bit of tough love every now and then, but that is because we love each other and want each other to succeed.

6. I Love The People I Work With
Like I said before, this is my family and I enjoy getting to work with them all on a daily basis. I know the people there will always have my back.

7. I Have Grown As A Person
When I started working at Woofer's, I was this shy and quiet sixteen year old. I have learned and developed more in the past 3 years than I could have ever imagined. I have learned responsibility, patience, leadership skills, and so much more. I take on daily tasks and challenges that I always try to give my 100% to. Now I am this outgoing nineteen year old who is thankful for the changes she has made.

8. I Get To Spend Time With My Favorite Fur Baby
With my busy school schedule during the day and the crazy amount of homework I do at night, I do not really give my own dog the attention she deserves. That is why I am so glad to work at Woofer's, where every day is "Take Your Pet To Work" day. I get to spend time with her and see her enjoy time with all her four-legged friends, and even the human ones, too.

9. The Friends I Have Made
When you find friends at work, it makes life so much more fun. My closest friends are the ones that I have met through work and I will always be grateful for them. We might not always get along, but I would not trade them for the world. When we all get to work together on the same day, we know it is going to be a great day!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
