9 Reasons Why Driving A Minivan Makes You Cooler

The freedom of driving is amazing, especially in those first moments when you first get your license and start whatever car will be your first fancy ride. Mine was my hand me down minivan as it was many more teenagers' first ride too. You finally could pick up all your friends and drive to wherever you wanted... with or without... asking your parents. It was a pretty insane moment of growing up. Anyways, I loved that minivan; I still do and wouldn't trade my first car for anything.

Here's why.

1. Squad

You can fit the whole entire squad in one car without leaving anyone out -- even that one friend no one really likes, but they're still always there and everyone always makes them sit in the middle seat.

2. Space

There's space to party, space to dance, space to pack in the people, use your imagination people.

3. Admiration

You can get smiled at when you blast your dank tunes instead of being glared at like those who blast their tunes in a sports car. Who would dare to hate someone whipping around in a respectable minivan?

4. Art Deco

You have way more room for bumper stickers, magnets, decals, anything. It doesn’t matter if you’re a soccer mom or a college kid, keep them coming and cover that mini.

Mine, for example, is a timeline, it has magnets from my middle school, high school and now college. But hey, I also have a Hello Kitty Bobble Head?

5. Cool Factor

You’re not the prissy driver in the parking lot. You’re driving your big sturdy minivan and you can get those spots only a few steps from Walmart even if you hit a a few shopping carts on the way because guess what? Minivan drivers don’t care.

Basically, minivans are transformers and they will kill all your cars sorry.

6. Family Bonding

You and your mom can share the bond and love for driving minivans because they bring families together, especially on hot, never-ending road trips to grandma's house.

You will also be mistaken for a chauffeur for your younger siblings if you have them.

7. Portable Home

You can keep a sleeping bag and pillow in your trunk for the adventures your minivan might take you on, or for the case where your gas mileage isn’t great and the mini decides to fail on you in the middle of nowhere.

Just put down the back seats and enjoy -- unless it's winter.

8. Storage

When you clean out a minivan, at least my minivan, you will find:

1. Last season's supply of clothing.

2. Enough water bottles to supply a small village…for a year.

3. Old McDonald's

4. And probably your license that you really needed the last time you got pulled over.

9. Pride

If you’re not proud to drive your minivan, then you are letting it and everyone down! Your minivan, or any car is definitely something to be proud of because if you drive it enough, it becomes a part of you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
