In my 20 years on this planet, I've had my fair share of boy drama. They seem interested, then ghost you, or they get too clingy too quickly. I've been a shoulder for my friends to cry on when boys lose interest or just generally do terrible things. I've literally decided that when I have kids I only want to have boys because I don't want my daughter to have to deal with the male species.
Who's the only person who hasn't let me down? My dog. The furry love of my life who couldn't escape if she wanted to. I'm a firm believer that the world would be a much better place if everyone had one.
That being said, here are the 9 reasons why dogs are better than men:
1. They're always happy to see you.
There's no better feeling than walking through the front door and your dog being so excited that he can't contain himself.
2. They're easily trained.
Tired of asking your man to clean up after himself, even after being together for years? Get a dog. They genuinely want to make you happy and can be trained after a few hours with some milk bones.
3. They'll never judge you for the weird things you do.
They see you lay around and binge-watch half a season of Friends while eating an entire bag of Cheetos, and they still love you just the same as before. They also don't make rude comments like, "are you feeling okay?" when you don't wear makeup.
4. They'll also never judge you for how much you eat.
And are always extremely grateful when you share.
5. You'll always have someone to cuddle.
Puppy naps are the BEST, hands-down.
6. You won't be judged for having pictures of them all over your Instagram and Facebook.
If someone does judge you for this, block them. You don't need that kind of person in your life.
7. They're great workout buddies.
Always happy to go for a walk or jog, and never judge you for giving up halfway through.
8. They get along great with all of your friends.
Can't always say the same about boys...
9. They'll love you forever.
They devote their entire lives to making you smile, and if that doesn't sell you on getting a dog, I don't know what will.
