9 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Friends Than People
Teresa D'Aguanno

"A dog is a man's best friend." That is the most accurate quote I've ever heard. Dogs are such loving animals. I have the cutest dog ever (or so I think)! Her name is Molly and she is a mix of a cocker spaniel and a whippet. She is the most precious thing I have ever met. She acts like a human. She follows you everywhere and wants to hangout 24/7. You can't pet her and not get a thousand kisses out of it. Don't even try walking past her or sitting down without recognizing her existence, or she will bark louder than a screaming child, and she won't stop.

I don't know what I would do without Molly. She always brings a smile to my face and she never leaves me lonely. She's always right by my side, and excited as ever when I walk in the door.

Sometimes I think, dogs are so much better than people. And here's why:

They are always DTC (down to cuddle)

No matter where or when it is, your dog will always be down for a cuddling session. They will want to curl up next to you and watch a movie anytime. Sometimes you don't even have to ask.

They don't judge you

You could do something completely weird and they will not judge you for it. Of course, inside their head they are secretly judging you, but they won't admit it. You are free to do and say whatever strange things you're thinking.

They listen to you

If something just aggravated you or made you upset, they are the first ones to go to. They love listening to your problems and being there to vent. They will never get annoyed hearing you express your thoughts.

They are always giving kisses

You need love? Find a dog. They will greet you with millions of kisses and I guarantee they won't stop. If you're sad they can always give you a couple kisses to make you feel better.

They won't make you feel lonely

THEY ARE ALWAYS AROUND!! They follow you everywhere, every step you take, they are right behind you. It does get aggravating when they get in the way sometimes, but admit it, you still love it. You'll never feel alone with a dog, they just don't go away.

Always encouraging exercise

Boy do dogs like their exercise!!! They are always encouraging you to go on runs and play with them. They can keep you in shape and be your workout buddy.

They treat you like a queen

They look up to you like you're royalty. If you wanna feel special, they will give you the attention you need. They will make you feel on top of the world.

Never make you feel left out

Dogs are the people who don't let you down at parties. If you're alone and have no one to talk to, meet that dog in the corner of the room and they will make you feel like you're a part of the party.

They are your buddy for life

No matter what happens, you can always count on your dog. They will be your right hand man and encourage you through every step of your journey. There will never be a dull moment with your precious pup. You are so thankful for your dogs, and you don't know how you would get through life without them!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
