I'm a cat person and heres why:
While many may think that dogs are man’s best friend, I firmly believe that cats are the ones who are truly by your side. Here are 9 reasons why cats are so great:
1.) They are lap animals, no matter the breed.
A puppy sleeping on your lap may be cute but it won't be long until that puppy is a full grown 200lb dog who crushes your body when they sit on you. A 1/2lb kitten to a 7lb cat is going to be cute and comfy their entire life.
2.) They keep away mice
Cats are your very own personal rodent exterminators, what could be better than that?
3.) They stay close to home
I have 5 cats that live outdoors and two dogs. We constantly have to keep an eye on the dogs to make sure they don't run off and get in trouble; we even have them stay in the garage overnight. However, my cats have a little cat house of their own outside and they can roam around as they please, yet they always stick around close to home.
4.) They groom themselves
You don’t have to spend hours scrubbing mud out of their fur and brushing out knots like you have to do with dogs. That is because not only do cats not get as dirty, they clean themselves so you don’t have to.
5.) They don’t slobber and drool
Dog kisses are okay, if you can look past the sloppy drool they put on you. Cats however, give the sweetest little nose kisses and tiny licks to show that they love you.
6.) They are super comforting
Cats must have a sixth sense to know when your upset. My cat has never failed to come lay with me and provide me joy and comfort when I am down. Hearing their soft little bodies pur next to you is such a satisfying feeling that can make any hardship or heartbreak easier.
7.) They have nine lives!
Whats better than one life? How about nine!!
8.) They don't eat a lot
Often outside cats will hunt for their own food. even if you choose to provide them cat food, they don’t eat nearly as much as dogs do, thus being the cheaper mouth to feed!
9.) They bury their own poop
Very few things could be worse than walking outside just to step in a stinking pile of dog poo. However, cats bury their poop so that isn’t a problem. Also, walking dogs in the rain for 20minutes because they won’t go yet is a hassle; put a litter box in the corner of a room and cats will do the rest!
While some people will stay true to their dogs, I hope this article has opened your eyes to some of the great things about cats. Who knows, maybe some of you will soon open your home to a cat of your very own.
