1. Someone to talk to while you walk back from class

Because the walk back from class can be kind of long and lonely, you always need someone to talk to if you don’t want to listen to music. Just calling them up to ask them about their day and tell them you love them is one of the best feelings in the world.

2. A constant support system

On the stressful days, or the days where you feel like giving up, having someone to talk you through your own thoughts is always a plus. As a college student, it is easy to get into your own head so having someone to talk you out of it is a necessity.

3. Someone who is away from the college world

Because my boyfriend is not a student at KSU, it is nice to talk to him about things that don’t remind me of Kennesaw. It’s something away from home that takes my mind off of the one thing that stresses me out the most.

4. A sense of home, that isn’t your mother’s phone calls

Because the person I love is from my hometown, I have a sense of home that isn’t just my mom calling me and telling me the daily news of the neighborhood. It’s nice to be able to partly live in someone else’s world too.

5. Someone who tells you that it’s okay to take a mental health day.

I remember one morning when it was so cold outside and raining that I was wondering why it wasn’t snowing. My boyfriend happened to be with me morning since he had spent the night. I dreaded going to class in the cold rain and I knew that it was only going to be a stupid lecture. He told me that I should go to class and after me almost throwing a fit about just having to put on leggings and a t-shirt, he said that he’d seen me work really hard through midterms that I should just take a mental health day. So, I did. And you should too.

6. Knowing that you’ve met someone who loves Friends as much as you do.

The number of days/nights that we have spent watching an entire season of Friends is something we may not choose to count but they are some of the best memories because cuddling all day and laughing together is the best medicine.

7. Someone to party with and that will make sure you get home okay

“Safety is the number one priority.” Regardless if it is my mom or dad’s words ingrained in my head, it’s something I think about every time I go out. Having someone there with me to make sure I get home okay if I want to be a little more careless that night is nice. I know I can trust them and they have my best interests at heart.

8. You don’t waste your energy on trying to please other people because you already have someone

The number of girls that you see trying so hard when you’re “downtown” has become a crisis. I like to be able to look back and see the love of my life smiling at me because he loves me for who I am and I don’t have to be on the lookout every time I go out.

9. At the end of the day, you have someone to tell you they love you.

Whether it’s a phone call or a kiss goodnight, knowing that you are loved to the moon and back is a settling feeling that everyone wants deep down.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
