Most people notice things when it's a little too late. These are just some of the doubts and questions that go through my head on a daily basis and I try to figure it out on myself exploring through my mind trying to figure out why we think and do as we do.

1. Is it so hard to be loyal?

You have a girlfriend/wife but decide to give your love to someone else, why? Fifty-four percent of marriages end in divorce now-a-days and we have no respect for other humans’ feelings. Be loyal and honest to your partner, if you do not want to be with your partner at least tell him/her and do not be a coward about it behind his or her back with someone else. Have developmental maturity.

2. Why do we put ourselves before others?

“Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you cannot help them, at least do not hurt them”-Dalai Lama. Egoism is run by the two things, the rush of pleasure and the rush of being able to do. We are equal beings and must avoid being egoistic and practice compassion to make others happy.

3. What is the fascination with texting and being on your phone 24/7?

I have never really been found of cell phones or technology and yes, I understand that it is a form of communication. But, there is a world to be seen and you won’t find it on your iPhone screen. Calling has gone rogue, it’s only about texting now. Why? Probably because we are too scared to have direct contact with people. And, I’m sorry the 45 snapchat filters are not going to turn you into a supermodel.

4. Why are we forgetting about religion?

The most read book in the world is the bible, but it seems now that everyone has turned away from the teachings of religion. Religious books (especially the bible) have answers and teachings that have such value for every instance in people’s lives. The teachings we get from Religion make us self-sufficient, charitable, and also give us hope and faith that we all have a meaning on this Earth.

5. Is it so difficult to respect Mother Nature and Earth?

Global Warming is killing our animals, our lands, and intoxicating our waters. But, people seem to not give a hoot if they throw trash on the floor or throw plastic into the ocean. And, even worse we the people do nothing to take large garbage companies and other factories that pollute our land accountable for destroying our land for their wealth. FPL in Florida is killing our fish and intoxicating our oceans, but no one says a word. It is not too difficult to use less paper and turn off faucets. Wendell Berry said “The Earth is what we all have in common.” And we must all take care of our common ground if we want to see it live as long as possible

6. Why do we choose Quantity over Quality?

I rather have one amazing piece of cake than, 5 average pieces of cake. Younger generations focus on going out and kissing many girls than focusing on one good beautiful girl, why? Companies also do not want to gain a bad rep for selling bad products. It is a lot better to sell quality products than an average product that gains a bad rep.

7. Why has laziness taken over humans?

Birds take two days to build a nest and rats take one day to dig a whole to live in. Humans take thirty years to pay off a house...We choose movies over books. We avoid sacrifices and rather pick the straight road to mediocrity rather than the curvy mountainous road to glory. Hard diligent work is now rare as we all rather be “Netflix & chilling”.

8. Why do we prefer wars over peace?

"Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity” –George Carlin. Governments want peace and tranquility for their countries but will kill thousands to achieve it...it just doesn’t sound right. Humans want an eye for an eye when they’re attacked (which they have reason) but is it not better to be civilized and be the bigger person (or country). There are better ways to solve conflicts than by bloodshed. Even if the human bodies genes are hardwired for conflict.

9. If you were not scared, how would you live your life?

The big decisions we make in our lives are almost always decided by trying to avoid our fears. What if we had more courage? Do you the courage to the life you want instead of living the life another human wants you to live? Would you be willing to take the risk to reach happiness? Don’t be scared either to show your feelings towards someone because you do not know what you could get in return, you could be surprised. Do not realize when it’s too late, that you lived off fear and not off happiness.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
