Mistakes are common among people of all ages, but some are reoccurring and consistent among 20-year-olds. You’re human and making mistakes is unavoidable. Many, if not all, of these things everyone is guilty of and eventually brings valuable life lessons.
- Settling. For a crappy job, awful boyfriend or girlfriend, bad grades in classes, etc. We’ve all done it and hopefully learned from it. Go after what you want and what you deserve and don’t stop until you get there.
- Giving people too many chances. I’m all about second, maybe even third chances because obviously people make mistakes, but if people are still messing up on their fifth or sixth chance with you- something has to change.
- Thinking your parents no longer know best. They’ve been there, done that, and always have your best interest in mind.
- Being THAT guy or girl at the bar. Everyone’s had one too many $1 fireball shots at the bar at least once and quickly realized it wasn’t smart and should probably be avoided next time.
- Going to work hung over. This one takes a few times to make its lesson learned. Everyone does it, probably more than once, but it is never fun.
- Investing time in things that do not help you grow. Whether it is a relationship or an activity, time should not be invested in something that holds you back. Letting go is freeing.
- Not being smart about your money.Student loans and bills will pile on eventually. I promise, you can live without those shoes and your wallet will thank you right now and in the future.
- Never traveling. Yes saving money is important, but you’re also young and would benefit greatly from seeing new places and things. Traveling doesn’t always have to be expensive; a little trip a few hours away is great too.
- Being afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are inevitable and great learning experiences, take chances.
