North Bridge Times

Every year, Pinterest and other DIY networks are flooded with great ideas to decorate according to the season. Fall is a great time to address your Autumn creativity! Here are 9 great Fall DIY projects. Most of them are simple, great for any DIY beginners. Spruce up your home or apartments with these great ideas!

1. Fall Leave Back-Drop

This is a really simple project, you can start with any base, as shown here, they used a thin piece of stained wood. From there, you can either use real or faux leaves, but either way it will look great! Just glue on into any formation you would like.

2. Wall Decor

I really love this, its simple, yet so appealing! All you need are 3 items, a piece of wood for the base, some fishing line or ribbon and some leaves or another tapestry to dangle down!

3. Light Decor

Depending on if you have porch lights, this could also be placed on a handrail railing. This is a great and simple piece of decor that can go a long way. The simplicity of it accounts for its beauty. All you need is some string, pinecones and burlap! Get creative, make this your own!

4. Chalk Board Sign

You can either buy your own chalkboard or make it yourself by using chalk paint. If you just buy a chalkboard, you can add some extra fall flavor to it with the framing vine that adds some Autumn love.

5. Carry Board

Depending on how you approach this, it can be one of the more complex projects. If you build the carrying board yourself, you'll need some tools and building equipment. Wood, nails, a handle and probably some paint! If you're buying the carrying board, maybe just add some paint depending on what you want. You can add the mason jars with fall flowers for an extra addition.

6. Candle Center Piece

I LOVE this one! So beautiful but so simple! All you need is a hollowed out half piece of wood, a flat board would do too, tea light candles, and pine cones. You'll get a beautiful centerpiece that will also have fall scents coming from the pine cones! You could spray the pine cones with additional scents if you want. It will definitely be a talking piece!

7. Crayon DIY Pumpkin

This one is super neat! You can get these hollowed out pumpkins at any holiday store, even the dollar store and probably find crayons around your house! Just take a hair dryer and melt the crayons on top and they will melt down to the bottom, it ends up looking really cool! You can make the colors in a rainbow like above, or you can fix them to be fall colors such as your browns, oranges, reds and yellows!

8. Fall Coasters

These are simple and unique looking coasters. You can pick any fabric you would like.as you can see flannel is a great Autumn fabric to choose. You can really make these as you want, but to do it the simplest way you can just cut the fabric into 5x5 inch squares and sew the two together. Really simple! If you wanted to make them more sturdy, you could put a cork board in between them.

9. Candle Decorations

These cute candle sweaters add not only visual appeal but also some great smells! Cinnamon sticks smell GREAT and automatically send your mind to the sweater weather times. All you need are some candles, cinnamon sticks and whatever ribbon or yarn you want to wrap it all up with! I love the burlap yarn, it is so Fall! You can put these all around your house. I think they look super cute in little groups all at staggering heights, no matter your opinion they will look great!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
