Ah, YouTube. What a glorious place, full of wondrous, intriguing, and...questionable content. Regardless, I'm on it constantly. Whether you're looking for a new channel to watch, bored out of your mind, or procrastinating like none other, I've got you covered. Here are my top eight favorite Youtubers, along with a few videos to get you started.
Rooster Teeth
Video game lovers, this one’s for you. To spare you guys some time, I coupled those other three channels underneath since they’re all just branches of Rooster Teeth. I first got into RT after seeing the Rage Quit of The Impossible Game on Tumblr. I don’t know what exactly prompted me but I was like, hm, this is pretty funny, I think I’ll check this out. And I’ve been sucked in ever since. I think they’re all hilarious and I’ve come to enjoy everyone’s personalities.
Two videos to give you a little taste:
Rage Quit: The Impossible Game - make sure to watch until the very end!
Rooster Bells – 2015 RT Holiday Musical
BigCatDerek
The first I saw of BigCatDerek was one of his vines: (...and then Zuberi eated me up.). I love animals, and I’ve always thought that big cats were fascinating. But, the way I really got into his videos was after I got my wisdom teeth taken out. I needed to pass the time while I was healing, and instead of Netflix I found his YouTube channel and binge-watched his Walk Around The Compound Webcasts while eating ice cream and icing my jaw for 3 days. And now here we are! I love all of the cats at CARE and love watching Derek interact with them. I encourage you to donate to them: they are such an amazing cause! IISuperwomanII
Lilly Singh is one of a kind, lemme tell ya. Her jokes are hilarious and I have some serious hair envy for her. Like seriously. Her hair is AMAZING. I wish I could pull off her killer double French braid. She’s beautiful and amazing and has great values and stuff she’s just so fab. Here are two of my recent favorites:
What Canadians Really Want To Say To Americans
A DISS TRACK AGAINST MYSELF (Roast Yourself Challenge)
Jenna Marbles
You probably know her from her “How to Trick People Into Thinking You're Good-Looking” video, which is gold, I must say. But her other videos are fantastic, too. Make sure to check out both her old and new ones, you’re almost guaranteed to find one that makes you say, “Dude, same.”
Team StarKid
I first found them after Darren Criss was hired to Glee. He’s beautiful and has the voice of an angel, so I looked him up and found Team StarKid, watched A Very Potter Musical, and the rest is history. They've made some more musicals since then, so you should go check them out because they're super funny, and have fantastic music.
CollegeHumor
It’s in the name, truly. Being a college student, and a fan of humor, it’s a quality combination. They’re just a weird group of people but they make some fantastic content. This is one of my favorite videos:
Gay Men Will Marry Your Girlfriends
The Slow Mo Guys
Few things are better than two British dudes and slow motion. Very few things.
Fire Tornado in Slow Motion 4K
Epic Rap Battles of History
Honestly, I think I learned more from these than I learned in my history class.
So there you have it! Those are some of my favorite YouTube channels that I watch on the regular, plus a few sample videos to get you started. You should totally check them out because I think they're awesome. Hopefully, you can find something new to watch!
