You've finished another year of school, and now it's time to cope with the inevitable feeling of boredom over the summer. How will you survive? If you're stumped, here's a few ideas:
Be a tourist in your own city. Find new coffee shops, go sight seeing, take lots of pictures. It's easy to forget how awesome our hometowns are when most of us are away from them for nine months, so take some time to visit places you've missed, discover new areas, and appreciate where you come from. At the very least, you'll end the day with some cool photos (Hello Instagram).

Go thrifting! Some of the world's best kept secrets are waiting in thrift stores. Seriously, there are great finds hidden in the depths of Goodwill. Find them. Get creative. You'll come out with lots of interesting stuff if you look hard enough.
Watch some throwback movies. Because who in their right mind doesn't love the classics? I'm talking old school Disney, "The Breakfast Club," "The Wizard of Oz." Not to mention, you'll notice the subliminal messages you couldn't understand as a kid. Go ahead, give into the nostalgia and throw it back.
Get crafty. I'm looking at you, sorority girls. Summer is the time to craft for your big, your little, your roommate, your friends, and most importantly, yourself. Pinterest and Etsy are designed to appeal to your crafty side and are full of cute, easy ideas. Stock up on those canvas boards and wooden letters, and craft away.

Call up an old friend. It can be tough to find time for old friends while everyone is away at college, but summer is the perfect time to grab lunch or coffee with a buddy. It can be really refreshing to catch up with an old friend, plus, they would probably love to hear from you.
Get active! For us college kids, summer has become a time for us to make as much money as we can and lose those extra lbs. we gained the past year. I'm not about to tell you to run five miles every day - I don't even do that. Look for hikes in your area, take a yoga class, or even just walk 30 minutes a day. These activities help to clear your head, enjoy the summer weather, and get in shape for the new school year.

Get out of your music comfort zone. Personally, I' a huge fan of Spotify. Whatever it is that you use, discover some new music. You'd be surprised how time flies by while you're making that perfect summer playlist. Venture out of your preferred genre, see what else you like, and start listening. Good music does wonders.
Netflix. There are two types of people in this world: Those who binge watch Netflix, and liars. I am 100 percent down to sit on my couch with some ice cream and my favorite Netflix show. We all need a day like that every once in a while, so indulge. Plus, with all of these other activities you'll be doing, you're going to want some down time. "Orange is the New Black," "Friends," and "Grey's Anatomy." Embrace them.
