It's that time of year again, folks. ABC's "The Bachelor" has returned to our TV screens every Monday night, and that means a fresh batch of drama, extravagant dates, and seemingly flawless women all vying for the love of Mr. Ben Higgins. "The Bachelor" has been on for 20 seasons (yes, 20), and as a loyal follower, I've noticed some serious trends among the contestants. No "Bachelor" season is complete without these eight women.
1. The Crazy One
There's one in every crowd. The crazy may change, but the story is always the same. She makes us question our own sanity, and her antics never fail to keep her around for way longer than she should be. Mandi got out of the limo with a giant rose on her head and then gave Ben a full dental exam. Because what else would you do when potentially meeting your future husband for the first time?
Past psychos: Ashley S. from Chris' season.
2. The One with the Sob Story
Whether it's before she walks out of the limo or moments before a rose ceremony, we learn about her tale of woe before episode two. Coincidence? The bachelor then feels terrible, so she'll stick around for a few more weeks. That wasn't the case this season, though. Samantha shared her dad's tragic struggle with ALS, but that didn't stop Ben from telling her she smelled sour on their first group date. (Yikes.)
3. The Single Mom
There's not much to say about her, but she's probably way too sweet and is looking for a good role model for her kid(s). The bachelor usually feels bad keeping her away from her kids for too long, so she usually doesn't make it very far. Stay tuned to see how far Amanda lasts—Ben did make her daughters those rose hair barrettes.
Past single moms: Juelia and Mackenzie from Chris' season.
4. The Future Stalker
She's stalked the bachelor on social media for weeks, and then tells him all about it at their first meeting. You can spot her crazy eyes from every angle, and just about anything can set her off. Would you be surprised if maybe she microwaved a cat in the past? Didn't think so. (I'd be terrified not to make eye contact with Lace.)
Past future stalkers: Kelsey from Chris' season.
5. The Unexpected Villain
On first meeting, you instantly like her. She's normal, wears cool clothes, and seems to really hit it off with the bachelor. By episode two, that's all a distant memory as she's orchestrating catfights and you're counting down the weeks until she's a goner (not soon enough!). Come on, Ben. Olivia's freaky mouth thing is just one reason to eliminate her. I could go on for days.Past unexpected villains: As luck would have it, Kelsey from Chris' season falls under two categories. We all loved her until she flipped a switch and let the crazy loose.6. The One Who's Always Drunk
She never makes it through night one. Literally. The open bar is a little too much for her to handle, and she causes scene after scene, slurring her words, professing her undying love for the bachelor, or falling in the pool, like Jordan from Chris' season. We're pretty sure the glass she's holding is just part of her hand.7. The Annoyingly Perky One
Past perky people: Whitney from Chris' season.
8. The Annoyingly Perfect One
She has flawless hair, skin, and clothes. And she's the most normal. Is she even a real person? You try (and fail) to dislike her, but end up stalking her on social media in your spare time. The show would be over a lot faster if the bachelor would just pick her after the first episode. (I'm talking about you, Ben and Lauren B.)
