8 Times Lorelai Gilmore Was Doing It Right As A Mom

No TV mom will ever be a better TV mom than Lorelai Gilmore. With her witty commentary, coffee addiction and spur of the moment decisions, she is the perfect mom.

1. She knows the perfect break up routine

If there's one thing Lorelai Gilmore knows how to handle it's breakups. Wallowing for a few days doesn't make you weak, it'll make you feel better in the long run.

2. Even in bad situations, she can make the best of it

Even at Friday night dinners with Richard and Emily, Lorelai was also able to entertain herself and Rory with witty comments that seemed to come from thin air.

3. She knows sleep is important

Nothing is important enough to wake up before 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Well, unless there are boatloads of coffee involved.

4. Food is the most important thing in life

Eating isn't just a necessity to the Gilmore girls, it's fun. Why not have pizza, chips, mozzarella sticks, ice cream and candy for dinner?

5. Cleaning isn't always necessary

Cleaning is not at the top of the priority list for Lorelai. She doesn't waste all her time making sure the house is spotless when she can watch The Golden Girls and shop instead; with maybe a little bit of eating thrown in there.

6. She is proud when boys fight over Rory

Lorelai is usually proud of Rory for some pretty unorthodox things from time to time. She may or may not have been extremely proud of Rory when Jess and Dean fought over her at a party and completely totaled a house. Well let's be real, she was totally proud.

7. She knows what to look for in a man

If there's one thing in life worth throwing your life away for it's for a boy with a motorcycle. Duh.

8. She really loves her kid

Nothing is more important to Lorelai than Rory. If there's one thing in the world that is the most important to her, it's her daughter.

Lorelai Gilmore is the definition of "mom goals" and will always be remembered for eating way too much, drinking too much coffee and being the cool mom.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
