New year, new you! There's no better time to start making positive changes in your life for a happier you in 2016. This year, don't think about making big resolutions. Instead, check out these simple little ideas that can have a big impact on your life and overall happiness!
Social Media
How many times a day do you find yourself scrolling through your newsfeed, checking to see how many likes you've received on your latest photo, or replying to someone's Snapchat? This year, delete some of your apps, and take a break from the world of social media! Maybe don't completely cut yourself off all at once, but gradually reduce your social media usage to spend more time with the people in front of you now.
Coffee
How many times a week do you make a pit stop at your favorite coffee place? By cutting down on coffee, you're not only saving money, but you're also saving calories! Can't cut coffee out of your life? Substitute your daily cup o' joe for a hot tea instead. Even better, go for green tea, which is said to help increase your metabolism!
Negativity
Complain, complain, complain. Do you ever stop to think about the words that come out of your mouth? How many times a day do we find ourselves complaining about something and find it negatively impacting our daily lives? Instead of looking at the glass being half empty, try being more optimistic this year! Got stuck in traffic going to work today? At least you have a car and a job! Burned dinner? At least you have food to cook! Try it out! You never know what a positive spin will do for your life.
TV Time
Admit it. We've all found ourselves camped out in front of the TV at least once or twice when we could have been spending our time more wisely. Instead of TV time, get up and get moving! Hang out with friends, call a loved one, or go for a walk outside!
Unhealthy Habits
No, I didn't say go find a new crazy diet. Just focus on being healthy! Find your own happy way to be healthy, and stick to it! Whether it's replacing items in your kitchen with healthier foods, going for a walk after dinner, or joining your local gym, find a way to be a healthier you in a way that you enjoy.
That Person
You know what I mean. We all have that one person in life that's always bringing us down. That old friend we hope comes back around or maybe that guy or girl you're wishing would give you a second chance. But maybe a new year means time to let go and time to meet new people. And maybe we need to get past the old for new and better friends to come into our lives.
Clothes
New year, new style! Take some time to clean out your closet. Maybe you'll rediscover some old favorites or think of new ways to wear old clothes. And while you're at it, donate your old clothes!
