Your parents are your first best friends; the ones you learn from, and care about. They pick you up when you're down, and encourage you with everything you do in life. Your parents are always in your corner, even when you don't see it. They're the people that annoy you the most but also give you the world. You are the person you are today because of your parents, and for that, you have so many things to thank them for.
1. Cleaning up your messes
From when you threw up on their clothes as a baby, or spilled your drinks all over the counter, they were always there to clean it up; and even with minimal complaining (most of the time).
2. Always being your shoulders to cry on
Whether it was a nasty break up, or troubles with school or friends, they were there for you at all times. They put down their own lives to tend to yours, and for that, you will always be grateful.
3. Always keeping tabs on you
Your parents make sure that you are always safe. Even if you didn't always enjoy them asking you so many questions and embarrassing you so much, you can now thank them for keeping you out of harms way.
4. Telling you the truth about everything
Whether it hurt or not, your parents would tell you the truth about anything. If you looked bad that day, they'd tell you. If that guy wasn't right for you, well, you'd know it.
5. Giving you siblings
If you have siblings, you know that it's a blessing, and the only reason you have them is because of your parents. You have someone to blame things on, and someone to go against your parents with; what could possibly be better than that?
6. Being your personal tutors
If you ever had problems with your homework, they were the first people you'd ask; after all, they always tell you they're the reason you're so smart right? It didn't matter the subject, they'd do their absolute best to help you (or give you a few answers, just in case).
7. Giving you "advice"
Maybe it was about some boy they didn't like, or friends they didn't approve of, but they'd definitely put their two sense in. Because of this though, you knew right from wrong, and you actually were able to pick the right friends and make the right choices, even without their input.
8. Giving you unconditional love
Even though you may not have been the best kid at times, they were always there for you, and always loved you. Your parents have always been your number one supporters and greatest teammates. Without your parents, you wouldn't be the person you are today, and for that, you'll always be grateful for them. Thanks Mom and Dad, love always, your kiddo.
