On the road again. Winter break for many families, with relatives that live far away, often involves a bit of traveling. And I'm sure those who have spent many hours on the road with family during winter vacation can relate to the following:
1. Music choice is certain to cause a ruckus. Dad wants 80's classics, Mom wants Michael Buble and to be honest you just want a little peace and quiet so you can get some sleep.
2. If you're traveling with a pet, it will definitely be a challenge fitting everyone and everything in the car.
But, at least you have a fuzzy friend to keep you company for the duration of the trip.
3. Road trips are not the time to be picky about food. Choices are limited. And you know there is no way everyone is going to agree on the same dining option.
4. Sibling rivalries take on a new level when squished in the backseat of a car. And mom will probably consistently ask you to stop bickering and yelling because you are adults.
At the same time, you may become even closer to your siblings, being forced to have a nice conversation without killing each other.
5. Rest stops can be super annoying. Just when you are finally able to comfortably doze off, one family member decides it's time to take a bathroom break.
6. Let's hope the GPS can get you to your destination without any glitches. But if that fails, you know there will be a dispute regarding what the quickest route is.
And, getting lost is not always a bad thing. You never know, your family road trip could turn into a new, exciting adventure.
7. Everyone will most likely be on their phones catching up on social media. And fighting over the charger will inevitably occur.
8. But, maybe after spending hours in the car with loved ones, you realize that you might not get quality time like this with your family for another year or so.
So, you decide to suck it up, smile, and hope for a smooth rest of the ride without any arguments.
