I have always been a lover of school, education and all things September through June. It was my destiny ever since I was a little girl. My mom always tells the story of how she was so worried about me starting kindergarten, but once I arrived at school that first day all I said was "bye, mom" and was ready for the school year to begin. It's been the same story every single year of my life, even now as I enter my second year of college. Call me a dork. Call me crazy. Either way I am definitely a lover of school. Here are some of the struggles I face constantly as someone who just can't wait to get back into the classroom.
1. You begin buying school supplies way earlier than necessary... like, mid-July or sometimes even earlier.
"But, there's a sale. And who couldn't use another notebook?!"
2. You pick your classes for next semester as early as possible.
*Makes and remakes a practical schedule 15 times before it is perfect.*
3. You plan outfits for class over and over again for the entire month of August.
After attending 13 years of Catholic school, once I began at a public college I was shocked to find out how much fun I had been missing being able to choose outfits for every day of classes.
4. You enjoy the first few weeks of summer, but then realize that you are incredibly bored.
"Why didn't I take summer classes?"
5. You literally cannot wait to get a syllabus in your hands.
I just want to be prepared, OK?
6. You dream about what you'll do after you graduate college.
And by "dream" I mean plan out what master's degree(s) you want to pursue after your undergraduate degree is completed.
7. You have multiple Pinterest boards pertaining to the obsession.
Study guides, ideas, outfit ideas, meal ideas and, of course, blog posts on how other people achieved a 4.0 GPA (teach me your ways!).
8. You have decided on a career somewhere in the education system.
Where else would I want to be every single day?
