When I have an anxiety attack, there's only certain music that I can listen to. It has to have a beat that I find relaxing. I've tried listening to upbeat pop music before (e.g. today's top hits), and I've realized that when I'm already anxious, it just makes me feel more anxious. These are my favorite songs to listen to when I am feeling anxious. I hope that my list could potentially help someone else find peace in their anxiety.
1. Gravity by John Mayer
I love the tune to this song. Like I said, I need music that has a relaxing sound. It also helps that I love John Mayer.
2. In Christ Alone by Anthem Lights
This song is extremely helpful for me when I have an anxiety attack. It helps me feel closer to God and to feel like I'm not alone.
3. You Can Be All Kinds Of Emotional by The Lone Bellow
The Lone Bellow is another one of my favorite artists, and I love all their music, but this song is my favorite of theirs. It's a very peaceful song and it's so relaxing to listen to.
4. Malibu by Miley Cyrus
This song is so good. What I love about it is how positive it is. It does have a change of beat, but I still find it relaxing. Whenever I hear it, I imagine myself on a beach, and that's usually where I go in my mind when I have an anxiety attack.
5. My Life by Best Coast
Best Coast is my favorite artist to listen to, especially when I'm feeling anxious. All of Best Coast's songs are known for their beachy-sound.
6. How They Want Me To Be by Best Coast
Another one of my favorites by Best Coast. It always makes me think of looking out at the ocean, and makes me feel so at peace.
7. If I Loved You by Delta Rae
This song has sad lyrics, but this song is another one that I listen to when I'm feeling anxious. I found Delta Rae when I was searching for new music a while back, and I fell in love with this song. It has a folk sound that I like, and I find it relaxing.
8. Near To You by A Fine Frenzy
What I love about this song is how powerful the lyrics are. The song shows the hard work of healing after one relationship ends, and then moving on, cautiously, into a new relationship. It's relatable and the piano tune is beautiful.
