It’s fall! Which means hot days and cool nights, PSL’s and a whole lot of candy. While we are still enjoying the summer rays in Florida, I can’t help but wish every day for the leaves to change colors. Until then here’s a playlist to get you into the spirit!
1. "Sweater Weather" – The Neighbourhood
This top chart hitter is definitely a go-to fall jam. A blend of indie and bass beats makes this contemporary ballad a song you will be singing well into winter.
2. "Somewhere Only We Know" - Keane
A beautiful song of nostalgia and self-realization. "Somewhere Only We Know" is the best song for sitting under a tree and reading poetry or chilling out on the lawn watching the clouds go by. It's definitely one of my favorites.
3. "Wake Me Up When September Ends"- Green Day
Breaking out the teenage angst in all of us, Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is the epitome to long farewells to summer days.
4. "Meet Me On the Equinox" - Death Cab For Cutie
In the closet Twilight Fans, this one is for you. Although, there is not one reference to fall in this whole song its sultry rustic feel will most certainly put you in the mood for long lasting memories of pumpkin picking and leaf jumping, or you know totally derail into falling madly in love with a werewolf. Which ever comes first.
5. "Change of Season" - Hall and Oates
For all you classy people. Hall and Oates. Need I say more. Just click. You won't be disappointed.
6. "The First of Autumn" - Enya
Now and again words are just too complicated. For those can't-explain-you-just-have-to-be-there-moments "The First of Autumn" is a beautiful compliment.
7. "Autumn Sweater" - Yo La Tengo
This upbeat tune is one your going to love without the annoying hook that will get stuck in your head on repeat. With prominent drum beats and a cool indie- pop flare, this song is sure to keep you yearning for that fall warmth.
8. "Tim McGraw"- Taylor Swift
On a romantic date? Fan of Tay? Or just need to mellow out? Tim McGraw is the song. It has all the nostalgia of your summer fling or the love of your life without the heartbreak or ill feeling toward fights. It is by far my favorite song by Taylor Swift and it's simple which is perfect for a fall afternoon.
