The Beatles are well known for what seems to be an endless amount of songs that one can sing and sway to when just the first note drops. Playing a song from The Beatles can trigger a wondrous memory, break the ice of a tensed moment and slap smiles and singing to the lips of most, if not all.
The band that formed in the 1960s helped ignite, or possibly started to some, the British Invasion and rocked the hearts of many. The 12 studio albums released, among more EPs and singles, in just 10 short years the men stayed together showed compassion and love for the music and fans. Here is a list of a few of the best songs from The Beatles.
1. "I've Just Seen a Face"
Ah, a sweet romance tune of a new, found love interest. Such a sweet tune to sing to a loved one.
2. "Golden Slumbers"
It's easy to interpret your own thoughts on what a song may be about. To me, "Golden Slumbers" is of the scenario of life and death.
3. "Ob La Di, Ob La Da"
"Ob La Di, Ob La Da - Life goes on." Move on with your life and do not dwell on useless and minimal things that occur in your life that may cause negativity. Life does go on.
4. "In My Life"
I believe that this song is, of course, of a loved one. An expression of sorts to display the love and joy this person has brought.
5. "Let It Be"
One of my most favorite songs of the Beatles. It is rumored that the song is actually of Paul McCartney's mother, Mary, who passed away. Similar to "Ob La Di, Ob La Da," not need to dwell nor seek answers that you may not find. This song will seek light in some of the darkest areas of life.
6. "Paperback Writer"
Another rumor is that the song was in retaliation of when McCartney's grandmother asked him to write a song about a paperback writer when McCartney said he could write a song about anything. I think he did well. But to the aspiring authors!
7. "Strawberry Fields Forever"
It is said that when John Lennon was younger, he would escape to place called Strawberry Fields when he was an orphan. Secondly, it is a mentality, too, of sorts. One escapes the current mentality of fear and stress and anger by visiting Strawberry Fields.
8. A Day In The Life
This song can have different takes to it, as most songs have a differing personal feel from one person to another. To me, it's essentially how the world can be so ugly, the news itself, and portraying these in the eyes of others.
There are countless of timeless Beatles songs, and if I were to display each one, the list would be seemingly endless. Are there any other songs you would add to the list? Comment below!
