If you are a current millennial or someone who know of things from the "past" you know that there are a lot of things that put us in our "feels." Some are good and some are bad, some are characters from a show, an outfit, songs, or an event. There are a few that really stand out in our lives that will never be forgotten.
1. Disney Channel and Teen Nick
Remember Phil of the Future? That's so Raven? The Proud Family? Even Stevens? What about All That? As Told by Ginger? Rugrats & All Grown Up? Rocket Power? And who could forget the ORIGINAL Disney Channel movies? Like, Don't look under the bed, Brink!, The Thirteenth Year, Zenon, Phantom Of The Megaplex, The Cheetah Girls, there is too many to even count.
2. Aeropostal, Phitens, Skin tight Skinnies, Converse
Basically, every outfit consisted of an Aeropostale/Hollister shirt, skin tight skinny jeans, and a pair of converse, (which have made their way back). Don't forget about a Phiten, basically, the best accessory, or silly bands, because you gotta have them all.
3. "Hanging out at the mall"
Even though people still do this, it was a big deal. Get your friends together and have one of your mom's "take" you to the mall. As she quietly follows behind you.
4. Music, Music, Music
Basically, everyone wanted an iPod nano. They had basically any color, and then the iPod touch came out which was a big deal. Like why have a phone when you could have that? Let's talk about the music we listened to. We could go from camp rock, to Jason Derulo's "solo" to Soulja Boy's "kiss me through the phone," to Justin Bieber's "One less lonely girl." It didn't matter. We had them all as our ringtones.
5. Throwback to Webkinz and Neopets
You need more than one, you basically needed them all. It was pretty much your own pet that you didn't have to worry about every day. You could play games with other people and raise your own little animal.
6. Omegle
Definitely not the best place to go. It was never good, especially video chat. I mean chatting with complete strangers is complete okay (not). But it was always interesting.
7. MTV
This deserves to be separate from #1 because well, it was life. The best time of the day was when Next, Silent Library, Parental Control, Life of Ryan, Big and Rob, MTV Cribs, Pimp my Ride, Run's House, My Super Sweet 16, these were all the best shows to watch after school.
8. Decorating your Middle School locker
This was a big deal, it was like a fashion show but for lockers. You had to have the locker shelf, the accessories, pictures of your crush, or of your favorite band. And hanging out here till the bell was seconds from ringing.
Middle School was something else for us. It was fun, but things changed quick. These are memories that we will never forget. They will live with us forever and ever whether we want them to or not.
