Every group of friends has that one friend that is like a mom to the others. While some are more subtle than others, there is always one regardless. Here are some signs that you are the mom of your friend group.
1. You're always prepared.
Need a band-aid? I got it. Need a tissue? Got that, too. No matter what it is, I more than likely have it in my car or in my room. Seriously, I have it all. You will too if you're the mom of your group. Being prepared is like second nature to moms.
2. You try to encourage your friends.
Whether there is a big test coming up or a first date, you're right there to cheer them on. You constantly try to uplift your friends and let them know that you believe in them, even when they're not sure if they believe in themselves. When they succeed or give it their all, you're always immensely proud and probably brag on them to other people.
3. You know their schedule almost as well as they do.
You do your best to keep up with their busy lives, all the while trying to keep up with your own. When my friends have a paper due, I try to make sure they are on top of it. When they have a test in the class they hate, I make sure they are studying even though it is the last thing they want to do.
4. What is important to your friends becomes important to you.
Before last year, I never cared about softball...like, at all. But when my friends' softball season rolled around, I came to every game I could. I worked my schedule around their playing time, and it was more than worth it. I even learned a thing or two about the game so I didn't sound like an idiot when one of them scored and I knew not to scream "TOUCHDOWN!!" or "GOAL!!" Since this game meant a lot to my friends, I made it a point to mean something to me. You become their biggest fan.
5. You worry about your friends' safety.
Whenever y'all go out, you keep a lookout for anything that looks suspicious. If she starts talking to a guy you think is a creep, you won't be afraid to interrupt and pull her away. If she is going on a date, you want to know where and when she will be back. You also more than likely wait up to make sure she makes it back okay. I realize this is a little psycho, but all the best moms worry about their kiddos.
6. You're the driver..always.
This is either due to the fact that you have a soccer mom car and are therefore the only one who can tote everyone or because you're a control freak. In my case, it's both. My soccer mom car is the only car in my group that can hold all six of us, and since I'm a worrier, I feel most conformable driving everyone. Plus, a few of my friends are bad drivers so it's a win-win situation for us all.
7. You always have their back.
When my friends have beef with someone, so do I. If one of them is going down swinging, so am I. No one messes with my kids and gets away with it.
8. You love them unconditionally.
You see their flaws and don't see imperfection, you see areas that are yet to grow. You know that there is nothing they could say or do that would make you love them any less. You would do anything for them at any time. Nothing could ever come between the bond you share for too long.
