Moms are always there to help you out, give you advice, and talk you through any rough patches. They've been there for you since the beginning and, if you're really lucky, you might just end up with a super cool mom who happens to also be your BFF. Here are some signs that show that you are blessed with the best.

1. You share clothes.

Her closet is your closet and vice-versa. It's not the best when she insists on wearing your favorite sweater, but you don’t complain because double the closets is a serious plus.

2. She texts you constantly.

It's not in the annoying, follow your every move kind of way, but because she wants to know what’s happening in your life. She might be sending cute dog videos to brighten your day or because she has news that she knows that you’ll be excited about.

3. You like the same music.

You can easily agree on the same radio station and John Mayer or Maroon 5 is always playing when you walk in the house. Also, she gets just as excited about concerts as you do (which is great, unless she gets tickets without you).

4. She always has the best ideas.

Whether it's advice or just fun things to do, her suggestions are never sub par. You both like to do the same activities, shop in the same places, and eat the same kind of food, so she’s always your go-to.

5. She has thriving social media accounts.

She has Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat and knows all of the ins and outs. She’s rarely confused by how to work these apps and you can expect updates regularly through them. Also, she makes quite a few appearances in your own accounts as well.

6. You call her constantly because you want to.

It's always fun to check in and let her know about the latest drama in your life. These daily phone calls are never a hassle, but something that you look forward to.

7. All of your friends love her.

They really have no choice but to agree with you about how great she is since you tell them so many stories about her. You also frequently get texts from them whenever they see her around town because they know who she is.

8. She lets you complain about your day to her.

If things go wrong, she is always the first one to know. Usually, she'll let you get all of your steam out before either sympathizing or laying down some solid advice.

9. Her texts are filled with emojis.

Fun moms send heart eye faces when they're proud and lots of crying faces when you text them about how many times you tripped on your way to class. There's no doubt that she's totally aced modern day lingo.

10. You somehow always end up talking about her to new people.

You can't help telling potential new friends all about the cool stuff that your mom has done. Talking about what you did with your mom one time or where you two traveled last summer just always seems to pop up in the conversation.

11. Quality time together is your ideal weekend.

Both of you love the same things, so everything is a top notch adventure. Either way, it doesn’t matter what you do because it’s always fun when you’re together.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
